  1. 1. TRIM21/ Ro52 in B cell pathology

    Author : Susanna Brauner; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Primary Sjögren’s syndrome (pSS) is a systemic autoimmune disease affecting 0.2% of the population. Several B cell aberrances have been linked to pSS, such as autoantibody production, hypergammaglobulinemia and B cell associated genetic polymorphisms. In addition, pSS patients display a 16 fold increased risk to develop B cell lymphomas. READ MORE

  2. 2. A study on the E3 ligase TRIM21/Ro52

    Author : Alexander Espinosa; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Patients with the systemic autoimmune diseases Sjögren's syndrome (SS) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), often have antibodies against the intracellular protein TRIM21/Ro52. Although the presence of anti-TRIM21/Ro52 autoantibodies is used as a diagnostic tool, the biological function of TRIM21/Ro52 is still unknown. READ MORE

  3. 3. The role of Ro52 autoantibodies in congenital heart block

    Author : Stina Salomonsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Autoantibodies; Ro52; congenital heart block CHB ; Sjögren s syndrome SS ; autoimmunity; inflammation; autoantigen; germinal center GC ;

    Abstract : The presence of B cells producing autoantibodies is a common feature of many autoimmune conditions. The pathogenic role of the autoantibodies is often unclear, but they often serve as diagnostic markers and may be used as prognostic tools in some diseases. READ MORE

  4. 4. Ro52 antibodies and susceptibility genes in congenital heart block

    Author : Linn S Strandberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Congenital heart block (CHB) develops in fetuses of Ro/SSA and La/SSB positive women. During pregnancy, the autoantibodies cross the placenta and affect the fetus in which a potentially lethal atrioventricular (AV) block may develop. READ MORE

  5. 5. Molecular characterization of the Ro52 autoantigen and its disease related epitopes

    Author : Lars Ottosson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Ro52; Sjögren s syndrome; autoantibodies; congenital heart block; molecular characterization; TRIM; RBCC; Zn2 ;

    Abstract : The presence of high titers of autoantibodies in patient sera is characteristic for the autoimmune disorder Sjögren s syndrome. The major targets for these autoantibodies are three intracellular proteins Ro52, Ro60 and La. It is still unclear why these proteins become targets for the immune system, and how this autoreactivity is triggered. READ MORE
