  1. 1. A multi-objective evolutionary approach to simulation-based optimisation of real-world problems

    Author : Anna Syberfeldt; Philip Moore; Robert I. John; Amos Ng; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : Evolutionary algorithms; simulation-based optimisation; multi-objective optimisation; noise; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Teknik; Technology;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a novel evolutionary optimisation algorithm that can improve the quality of solutions in simulation-based optimisation.Simulation-based optimisation is the process of finding optimal parameter settings without explicitly examining each possible configuration of settings. 2. 2. Non-digestible Polysaccharides and Intestinal Barrier Function : specific focus on its efficacy in elderly and patients with Crohn’s disease

    Author : John-Peter Ganda Mall; Robert Jan Brummer; Ida Schoultz; Åsa Keita; Mikael Wirén; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Non-digestible polysachharides; beta-glucan; arabinoxylan; barrier function; permeability; Ussing chamber; elderly; Crohn’s disease;

    Abstract : A large number of elderly suffer from gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms such as constipation and diarrhoea. The underlying mechanisms of age-acquired GI symptoms are not well studied but are necessary to clarify in order to recommend the right treatment. READ MORE
