  1. 1. Scheduling Garbage Collection in Embedded Systems

    Author : Roger Henriksson; Institutionen för datavetenskap; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; memory management; garbage collection; real-time; embedded systems; hard deadlines; run-time systems; Systems engineering; scheduling analysis; Data- och systemvetenskap; computer technology;

    Abstract : The complexity of systems for automatic control and other safety-critical applications grows rapidly. Computer software represents an increasing part of the complexity. As larger systems are developed, we need to find scalable techniques to manage the complexity in order to guarantee high product quality. READ MORE

  2. 2. Modulation of serous salivary gland function by the sympathetic nervous system : a biochemical and ultrastructural study with special reference to β-adrenoceptor subtypes

    Author : Roger Henriksson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : Rat parotid gland; guinea-pig submandibular gland; ß-adrenoceptor subtypes; sympathetic denervation; sympathetic superstimulation; amylase secretion; cyclic AMP; ultrastructural stereology;

    Abstract : The aim of the present investigation was to study the influence of the sympathetic nervous system and of various adrenoceptor agents on enzyme secretion and morphology in rat parotid and guinea-pig submandibular glands. Biochemical methods were combined with electron microscopical techniques. READ MORE

  3. 3. Manipulation of potassium ion fluxes to induce apoptosis in lung cancer cells

    Author : Britta Andersson; Kjell Grankvist; Parviz Behnam-Motlagh; Roger Henriksson; Ola Brodin; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Apoptosis; Cisplatin; Intracellular K content; Mesothelioma; Na K ATPase pump; Clinical chemistry; Klinisk kemi;

    Abstract : Apoptosis is a special form of cell death that if non-functional may lead to diseases such as cancer. A reduction of the intracellular potassium ion (K+) content is necessary for activating enzymes important for the execution of apoptosis. READ MORE

  4. 4. Experimental studies in brain tumours : with special regard to multidrug resistance and the ErbB-family

    Author : Ulrika Andersson; Roger Henriksson; Beatrice Malmer; Erik Blomquist; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; glioma; meningioma; endothelium; MDR; Pgp; MRP1; LRP; MGMT; EGFR; ErbB2; ErbB3; ErbB4; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi; onkologi; Oncology;

    Abstract : Primary brain tumours, and especially the most common form malignant gliomas, usually display a pronounced resistance to other treatment modalities when surgery fails to cure. Growth factors, such as EGF and its receptor, frequently amplified and overexpressed in malignant gliomas, and factors associated with multidrug resistance have been suggested to at least partially explain the poor outcome. 5. 5. Investigations of Leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domain-proteins 1 and 2 (LRIG1 and LRIG2) and their genes in cancer

    Author : Mahmood Faraz; Håkan Hedman; Roger Henriksson; Rolf Bjerkvig; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LRIG1; LRIG2; PDGFR; glioma; interactome; breast cancer; prognosis; Oncology; onkologi;

    Abstract : The mammalian leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domains (LRIG) gene family consists of three different members, LRIG1, LRIG2, and LRIG3. These genes are expressed in all human and mouse tissues analyzed to date. READ MORE
