  1. 6. Theory and Applications of Tri-Axial Electromagnetic Field Measurements

    Author : Roger Karlsson; Bo Thid'e; Tobia Carozzi; Gudmund Wannberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Space and plasma physics; polarisation; polarization; Stokes parameters; antenna; radio waves; whistler wave; SEE; direction-finding; statistics; Poynting theorem; Rymd- och plasmafysik; Space physics; Rymdfysik;

    Abstract : Polarisation, which was first studied in optics, is a fundamental property of all electromagnetic fields. A convenient way to describe the polarisation of two dimensional electromagnetic fields is given by the Stokes parameters. This thesis deals with different aspects of wave polarisation and electromagnetic field measurements. READ MORE

  2. 7. The expression and molecular functions of LRIG proteins in cancer and psoriasis

    Author : Terese Karlsson; Håkan Hedman; Mikael Johansson; Roger Henriksson; Kim Jensen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LRIG1; LRIG2; LRIG3; LMO7 lung cancer; glioma; psoriasis; Oncology; onkologi;

    Abstract : The leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domains (LRIG) family consists of three integral membrane proteins that are important in human cancer. LRIG1 is a negative regulator of growth factor signaling. Its expression is associated with longer survival in several cancer types, and the gene has been shown to function as a tumor suppressor. 3. 8. Cross-linked Profilin:actin - A tool to study actin dynamics in non-muscle cells

    Author : Staffan Grenklo; Roger Karlsson; Dan Lindholm; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; actin dynamics; profilin; actin; Profilin-actin complex; Cell motility; synaptic vesicle trafficing; Far western; fluorescence microscopy; Cell biology; Cellbiologi;

    Abstract : The microfilament system, consisting of actin and a number of auxiliary proteins, is fundamental for cell motility. Its dynamic organization depends on receptor-mediated signals, leading to rapid polymerizations and depolymerizations of actin. READ MORE

  4. 9. Profilin:actin in cell motility : A search for profilin:actin binding proteins

    Author : Thomas Johansson; Roger Karlsson; Björn Öbrink; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; profilin; actin; Cell biology; Cellbiologi;

    Abstract : The profilin:actin complex is a major source of actin for actin filament growth in vivo. A number of proteins regulating either profilin or actin has been described since profilin:actin was isolated during the 1970s. Since then, profilin and actin and their binding partners have been intensively studied. READ MORE

  5. 10. The Actin Filament System : Its Involvement in Cell Migration and Neurotransmitter Release

    Author : Anna-Karin Johnsson; Roger Karlsson; Stéphane Gasman; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Actin; Profilin; Synaptotagmin; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; Cell Biology; cellbiologi;

    Abstract : The microfilament system consists of actin filaments as the major component and is regulated by a number of actin binding proteins. It is juxtaposed to the plasma membrane where it forms a dense cortical weave from where it pervades into the cell interior. READ MORE
