1. The simulation of car and truck tyre vibrations, rolling resistance and rolling noise
Abstract : The road transportation sector places a severe burden on the environment in the form of CO2 emissions and road traffic noise. Both of these environmental prob- lems can be related to car and truck tyres. READ MORE

2. Truck tyre rolling resistance : Experimental testing and constitutive modelling of tyres
Abstract : Global warming sets a high demand to reduce the CO2 emissions of vehicles. In the European Union heavy-duty road transports account for 6 % of the total greenhouse gases and one of the main factors affecting these emissions is related to the rolling resistance of tyres. READ MORE

3. On motion resistance estimation and modeling for heterogeneous road vehicles
Abstract : Climate change is driving the development of CO2 reducing technologies within the transportation industry. One of the most promising technologies is battery electric vehicles. READ MORE

4. Roller skis' rolling resistance and grip characteristics : influences on physiological and performance measures in cross-country skiers
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to investigate roller ski characteristics; classical and freestyle roller skis’ rolling resistance coefficients (μR) and classical style roller skis’ static friction coefficients (μS), and to study the influence of different μR and μS on cross-country skiers’ performance and both physiological and biomechanical indices. The aim was also to study differences in skiing economy and efficiency between recreational skiers, female and male junior and senior elite cross-country skiers. READ MORE

5. Modelling and experimental testing of truck tyre rolling resistance
Abstract : Truck transport offers a versatile way to ship goods in regional, long haulage and urban applications. However, the heavy truck sector accounts for 6 % of total greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union. Therefore, there is a need for a substantial reduction of these emissions to secure the sustainability of Earth for future generations. READ MORE
