1. Efficient Finite Element Approach for Structural-Acoustic Applications including 3D modelling of Sound Absorbing Porous Materials
Abstract : In the context of interior noise reduction, the present work aims at proposing Finite Element (FE) solution strategies for interior structural-acoustic applications including 3D modelling of homogeneous and isotropic poroelastic materials, under timeharmonic excitations, and in the low frequency range. A model based on the Biot-Allard theory is used for the poroelastic materials, which is known to be very costly in terms of computational resources. READ MORE

2. Design of soundproof panels via metamaterial concept
Abstract : The goal of the work is to find a way to improve the sound insulation properties of different types of panels in order to meet different requirements. Inspired by the nontrivial behavior of the locally resonant acoustic metamaterials, this concept is introduced into the design of structures in order to explore the potential ways to improve the sound insulation behavior in the relevant specific frequency regions. 3. Micro-structural based acoustic modelling of anisotropic open cell materials
Abstract : A method for the calculation of the acoustic performance of open-cell foammaterials is discussed. From a known micro-structural geometry and theconstituent material, the relevant acoustic properties are computed using apreviously published analytical method for the calculation of the dynamicdrag impedance and a previously published method for the calculation of theelastic moduli. 4. Noise emissions from sustainable transport : A multi-scale modeling approach
Abstract : Noise emissions from transportation remain one of the greatest environmental issues of modern day. Inhabitants in urban environments are especially exposed, with almost 80 million people in the European Union exposed to noise levels exceeding the recommended limits set by the World Health Organization (WHO). 5. On the impact of noise and energy demand from traffic : An assessment using microscopic modelling
Abstract : Noise emissions from transportation remain one of the greatest environmental issues of modern day. Inhabitants in urban environments are especially exposed, with almost 80 million people in the European Union exposed to noise levels exceeding the recommended limits set by the World Health Organization (WHO).
