  1. 1. Rotational Bands and Pairing Interaction in the Shell Model

    Author : Andrius Juodagalvis; Matematisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; statistical physics; gravitation; relativity; Rotational bands; Shell model; Cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky; Pairing interaction; Backbending; Band termination; Proton-neutron pairing; Quadrupole electromagnetic moments and transition strengths; N=Z nuclei; Mathematical and general theoretical physics; quantum mechanics; classical mechanics; klassisk mekanik; Matematisk och allmän teoretisk fysik; thermodynamics; Fysicumarkivet A:2000:Juodagalvis; termodynamik; statistisk fysik; kvantmekanik; relativitet;

    Abstract : One of the goals pursued in the present research was to understand the nuclear phenomena (such as rotational bands, their backbending and termination, deformation, pairing correlations, etc.) using different views provided by different nuclear models. READ MORE

  2. 2. Microscopic Properties of Superdeformed Nuclei

    Author : Lennart B Karlsson; Matematisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; statistical physics; gravitation; superdeformation; Nilsson-Strutinsky; modified oscillator potential; moments of inertia; transition energies; rotational bands; quadrupole moments; spin assignments; identical bands; additivity.; Mathematical and general theoretical physics; classical mechanics; relativity; quantum mechanics; kvantmekanik; klassisk mekanik; thermodynamics; Matematisk och allmän teoretisk fysik; termodynamik; relativitet; statistisk fysik; Fysicumarkivet A:1999:Karlsson;

    Abstract : Many high spin rotational bands in superdeformed nuclei have been found in the A ~ 140-150 region, but so far no linking transitions to known normal-deformed states have been found in these nuclei. Therefore, configuration and spin assignments have to be based on indirect spectroscopic information. READ MORE

  4. 4. Nuclear Structure and Exotic Decays; Doubly-Magic 56Ni and Semi-Magic 58Ni

    Author : Emma Johansson; Kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Doubly magic; semi magic; 56Ni; 58Ni; high-spin states; fusion-evaporation reactions; cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky calculations; shell-model calculations; prompt proton decay; prompt alpha decay;

    Abstract : The nuclear structure of two nuclei, 56Ni and 58Ni, has been studied using fusion-evaporation reaction experiments. The experiments were performed at the Lawrence Berkeley and Argonne National Laboratories in the U.S.A. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Nucleus 59Cu - Complex Structure, Shape Evolution, Exotic Decay Modes

    Author : Corina Andreoiu; Fysiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kondenserade materiens egenskaper:elektronstruktur; spectroscopy; relaxation; magnetic resonance; supraconductors; Ge detectors; gamma-ray spectroscopy; charged particle detectors; level scheme; superdeformation; Cranched Nilsson-Strutinsky approach; gamma decay-out mechanism; prompt proton decay; Condensed matter:electronic structure; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; magnetic and optical properties; electrical; egenskaper elektriska; magnetiska och optiska ; supraledare; magnetisk resonans; spektroskopi; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Andreoiu;

    Abstract : High-spin states in the mass A~60 region were populated using the state-of-art gamma-ray spectrometers Gammasphere, Euroball, and GASP in conjunction with dedicated ancillary detectors. In particular, the 59Cu nucleus was studied in several experiments, and a very extensive level scheme was determined. READ MORE
