1. Parabolic problems on noncylindrical domains : the method of Rothe
Abstract : This Licentiate Thesis deals with parabolic problems on non-cylindrical domains. The existence and uniqueness of the corresponding initial- boundary value problem is proved by the method of Rothe, which - for the case of non-cylindrical domains - has to be appropriately generalized and applied. 2. A pseudoparabolic reaction-diffusion-mechanics system : Modeling, analysis and simulation
Abstract : In this thesis, parabolic-pseudoparabolic equations are derived coupling chemical reactions, diffusion, flow and mechanics in a heterogeneous medium using the framework of mixture theory. The weak solvability in 1-D of the obtained models is studied. READ MORE

3. Homogenization of pseudoparabolic reaction-diffusion-mechanics systems : Multiscale modeling, well-posedness and convergence rates
Abstract : In this dissertation, parabolic-pseudoparabolic equations are proposed to couple chemical reactions, diffusion, flow and mechanics in heterogeneous materials using the framework of mixture theory. The weak solvability is obtained in a one dimensional setting for the full system posed in a homogeneous domain - a formulation which we have obtained using the classical mixture theory. READ MORE

4. Some developments of the homogenization theory and related questions
Abstract : This thesis is mainly devoted to homogenization theory and it consists of an introduction, five papers and two conference proceedings. The introduction gives an elementary presentation of the basic ideas in homogenization theory, serves as an overview of the field and points out where the results of this thesis fit in. READ MORE

5. Some special problems in elliptic and parabolic variational inequalities
Abstract : This Licentiate Thesis is devoted above all to the investigation of variational inequalities. Chapter 1 deals with linear elliptic variational inequalities, where the operator is degenerated or singular, which involves the use of some weighted Sobolev spaces. READ MORE
