1. The Maximum Principle for Cauchy-Riemann Functions and Hypocomplexity
Abstract : This licentiate thesis contains results on the maximum principle forCauchy–Riemann functions (CR functions) on weakly 1-concave CRmanifolds and hypocomplexity of locally integrable structures. Themaximum principle does not hold true in general for smooth CR functions, and basic counterexamples can be constructed in the presenceof strictly pseudoconvex points. READ MORE

2. High-order finite difference approximations for hyperbolic problems : multiple penalties and non-reflecting boundary conditions
Abstract : In this thesis, we use finite difference operators with the Summation-By-Partsproperty (SBP) and a weak boundary treatment, known as SimultaneousApproximation Terms (SAT), to construct high-order accurate numerical schemes. The SBP property and the SAT’s makes the schemes provably stable. 3. Powered Mobility Devices in a Nordic Context: Service Delivery, Effectiveness and Methodological Development
Abstract : This thesis has contributed to the methodological development in the field of assistive technology and has generated new knowledge about the effectiveness and the service delivery process when powered mobility devices are provided to adult first time users in a Nordic context. Some of the results have been used to investigate the relationship between the three key elements of Donabedian’s conceptual model when scooters are provided to users from two Nordic countries, Denmark and Norway. 4. On two-dimensional conformal geometry related to the Schramm-Loewner evolution
Abstract : This thesis contains three papers, one introductory chapter and one chapter with overviews of the papers and some additional results. The topic of this thesis is the geometry of models related to the Schramm-Loewner evolution. In Paper I, we derive a multifractal boundary spectrum for SLEκ(ρ) processes with κ.. READ MORE

5. Free Boundary Problems of Obstacle Type, a Numerical and Theoretical Study
Abstract : This thesis consists of five papers and it mainly addresses the theory and schemes to approximate the quadrature domains, QDs. The first deals with the uniqueness and some qualitative properties of the two QDs. The concept of two phase QDs, is more complicated than its one counterpart and consequently introduces significant and interesting open. READ MORE
