  1. 1. Development of the read-out link and control board for the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Upgrade

    Author : Eduardo Valdés Santurio; Samuel Bryant Silverstein; Costas Foudas; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HL-LHC; ATLAS; Tile Calorimeter; TileCal; Demonstrator; Daughterboard; Read-out; Digital electronics; Data acquisition; Radiation tolerant; GBTx; TID; NIEL; SEU; SEL; FPGA; Kintex 7; Ultrascale; Ultrascale ; Optic Links; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The Phase-II upgrade plan for the ATLAS Hadronic Tile Calorimeter facing the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) era includes approximately 1000 radiation tolerant read-out link and control boards (Daughterboards) that will provide full-granularity digital data to a fully-digital trigger system off-detector through multi-Gbps optic fibres. Different Daughterboard (DB) revisions have been developed, each successively aiming to meet the demanding HL-LHC requirements. READ MORE

  2. 2. Development of a Sel-tag for multimodality imaging and studies of mammalian thioredoxin reductase 1

    Author : Qing Cheng; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Selenocysteine (Sec; U in one-letter code), the 21st amino acid existing in all selenoproteins, has unique biochemical properties due to its selenium atom, including a low pKa and a high reactivity with many electrophilic agents. When a selenoprotein is translated, the insertion of Sec occurs at a UGA codon, normally yielding translational termination. READ MORE

    Abstract : In Sweden, 350-400 million seedlings are produced annually for forest regeneration. About one third of these are overwintered in frozen storage, necessitating accurate methods to assess storability. Young transplants of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst. READ MORE

  5. 5. Primary prevention of mental health problems among children and adolescents through social and emotional training in school

    Author : Birgitta Kimber; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : mental health;

    Abstract : Among younger people in many high-income countries, mental ill-health, which includes depression, aggressive behavior, feeling down, and alcohol and drug abuse, is one of the greatest health problems. Since most young people attend school, there are grounds for pursuing the prevention of ill-health in the educational arena. READ MORE
