1. Computer simulation of materialsunder extreme conditions
Abstract : Extreme conditions allow us to reveal unusual material properties. At the same time an experimental approach is di-cult under such conditions. Capabilities of a theoretical approach based on simplied models are limited. This explainsa wide application of computer simulations at extreme conditions. READ MORE

2. Ferroelectric Na0.5K0.5NbO3 Thin Films : Processing, Physical Properties and Applications
Abstract : This thesis presents the results on the fabrication offerroelectric Na0.5K0.5NbO3(NKN) thin films by pulsed laser deposition (PLD)technique, comprehensive characterization of film properties, and various applications of NKN films. READ MORE

3. Hot wire and PIV studies of transonic turbulent wall-bounded flows
Abstract : The compressible turbulent boundary layer developing over atwo-dimensional bump which leads to a supersonic pocket with aterminating shock wave has been studied. The measurements havebeen made with hot-wire anemometry and Particle ImageVelocimetry (PIV). READ MORE

4. Effect of shock wave therapy on longitudinal bone growth and growth plate cartilage
Abstract : Aim: The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate the potential for radial shock wave treatment (rSWT) to regulate growth plate chondrogenesis and longitudinal bone growth. It was based on the hypothesis that the effects are dose-dependent in a bimodal response pattern where low-energy rSWT will increase chondrocyte proliferation/hypertrophy, and thereby bone growth, while high frequency/energy rSWT will induce chondrocyte apoptosis and thereby, premature growth plate closure. 5. Fuel-Efficient Heavy-Duty Vehicle Platoon Formation
Abstract : There is a need for intelligent freight transport solutions as the demand for road freight transport is continuously increasing while carbon footprint needs to be significantly reduced. Heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) platooning is one potential solution to partially mitigate the environmental impacts as well as to reduce fuel consumption, improve traffic safety, and increase traffic throughput on congested highways.
