  1. 1. Three Dimensional Multiphysics Modeling of Reversible Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells for Degradation Studies

    Author : Maria Navasa; Värmeöverföring; []
    Keywords : SOCs; SOECs; SOFCs; multiphysics; modeling; three dimensional; transport phenomena; electrochemical reactions; overpotentials; potentials; boundary conditions; validation; experimental data; degradation; carbon deposition; steam; hydrogen; carbon dioxide; carbon monoxide; carbon activity;

    Abstract : Solid oxide electrochemical cells (SOCs) are considered a highly promising technology for providing efficient, sustainable and economic conversion between chemical energy and electrical energy. SOCs can be operated as fuel cells, where electric power is obtained from fossil or non-fossil hydrocarbon fuels depending on the origin or as electrolysis cells, whereby using electrical energy from renewable sources like wind or solar, chemical energy can be stored as fuels. 3. 3. Metallic materials for solid oxide fuel cells and electrolysers - Mitigating high temperature corrosion

    Author : Mareddy Reddy; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PVD; High-temperature corrosion; MCO coating; Interconnect; Balance of Plant; Chromium evaporation; SOFC;

    Abstract : Solid oxide cells (SOCs) are high-temperature energy conversion devices that have great potential due to their high efficiency, low operating costs, and flexibility. SOCs can produce electricity from a variety of fuels as solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), and they can convert electricity to fuels as solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOECs). READ MORE

  4. 4. Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis on Transport Phenomena in Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells

    Author : Maria Navasa; Värmeöverföring; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The thesis comprises an analysis of the heat transfer phenomenon in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and a description of various transport phenomena in a solid oxide electrolysis cell. Both devices are encompassed under the solid oxide electrochemical cell concept. READ MORE
