  1. 21. On the Design and Validation of Fault Containment Regions in Distributed Communication Systems

    Author : Håkan Sivencrona; RISE; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fault handling and membership agreement; Byzantine faults; asymmetric faults; fault injection; time-triggered protocol; fault containment regions; slightly-out-of-specification faults; validation;

    Abstract : This thesis has a two fold focus where the first is an evaluation of a time-triggered communication protocol implementation, TTP-C1, which was stressed by use of heavy-ion fault injection. The gathered result showed a novel type of failures, earlier known only from theory, so-called slightly-out-of-specification faults, that manifested as Byzantine failures with resulting system inconsistence. 2. 22. Structural sound transmission and attenuation in lightweight structures

    Author : Lars-Göran Sjökvist; RISE; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sound insulation; acoustics; wooden houses; Fourier transform; lightweight building; stiffened plate; junction; stiffeners; flanking transmission; attenuation;

    Abstract : Everyone wants a peaceful and quiet home, but in noisy cities it is a challenge to create such homes. New building techniques are mostly introduced for other purposes than noise control -- stability, economy, heat transfer and so on. READ MORE

  4. 24. Deg/HtrA proteases of the cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 : from biochemical characterization to their physiological functions

    Author : Xuân Tâm Lâm; Christiane Funk; Jörg Nickelsen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Deg; HtrA; protease; chaperone; Synechocystis sp. PCC 6903; biochemical characterization; physiological function; proteomics; structure;

    Abstract : The family of Deg/HtrA proteases is present in a wide range of organisms from bacteria, archaea to eukaryota. These ATP-independent serine endopeptidases play key roles in the cellular protein quality control. The cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. READ MORE
