2. Solid-phase Microextraction and Detection of Organophosphate Triesters in Indoor air
Abstract : In the work underlying this thesis solid-phase microextraction (SPME) was evaluated as a passive sampling technique for organophosphate triesters in indoor air. These compounds are used on a large scale as flame-retarding and plastizicing additives in a variety of materials and products, and have proven to be common pollutants in indoor air. READ MORE

3. Microextraction for usage in environmental monitoring and modelling of nitroaromatic compounds and haloanisoles
Abstract : Processes in the environment are often complex and the description and prediction of the behaviour of environmental pollutants requires sophisticated methodology including multidimensional technology. Multivariate statistical methods including principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares projection to latent structures (PLS) were used to characterise several nitroaromatic compounds according to a large number of chemical and physical properties. 4. Microorganisms in indoor environments. A search for health-related measurements
Abstract : Microorganisms are ubiquitous in indoor air and epidemiological data suggest that inhalation of microbes and/or their products adhered on air–borne dust particles can impair well–being and health. In the present thesis microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs) and cellular markers were studied by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS). READ MORE

5. Improved methods for enrichment of organic ultra trace components for analysis by gas chromatography
Abstract : This thesis describes some new methods for analysis oforganic trace components from air and water by gaschromatography. The work is particularly focused on thedevelopment of new technologies for analyte enrichment, usingsorbent-based concepts. Short lengths of open tubular columnswere examined for their potential use as denuders. READ MORE
