  1. 11. Identification of pathophysiological and prognostic biomarkers in different types of myocardial infarction

    Author : Marcus Hjort; Bertil Lindahl; Kai M. Eggers; Helge Rørvik Røsjø; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; myocardial infarction; biomarker; pathophysiology; prognosis; MINOCA; STEMI; NSTEMI; hjärtinfarkt; biomarkör; patofysiologi; prognos; MINOCA; STEMI; NSTEMI; Cardiology; Kardiologi;

    Abstract : The pathophysiological mechanisms of myocardial infarction (MI) with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) are largely unknown. Analogous, differences in pathobiology between ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) are incompletely understood. READ MORE

  2. 12. Improving outcome in acute myocardial infarction

    Author : Ulf Stenestrand; Ulf de Faire; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Background: Despite common guidelines there are vanatlons in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) between hospitals in Sweden. Uncertainties remain regarding the efficacy of early statin therapy and early revascularisation in AMI patients. In the elderly patients also the role of fibrinolytic therapy has been questioned. 3. 13. Management and Outcome in ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction from a Gender Perspective

    Author : Sofia Sederholm Lawesson; Eva Swahn; Ulf Stenestrand; Joakim Alfredsson; Mats Eliasson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to evaluate baseline characteristics, management and outcome in real life ST-elevation myocardial infarction [STEMI] cohorts from a gender perspective. We aimed to evaluate the total STEMI population as well as certain subgroups, such as the youngest. READ MORE

  4. 14. High-Frequency ECG in Ischemic Heart Disease

    Author : Jonas Pettersson; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiology; Clinical physics; high-frequency QRS components; electrocardiogram; myocardial infarction; myocardial ischemia; Ischemic heart disease; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Abstract : Analysis of high-frequency QRS components (HF-QRS) is one of the emerging methods for increasing the diagnostic performance of the electrocardiogram (ECG). The overall objective of the thesis is to investigate whether analysis of HF-QRS has the ability to provide information about ischemic heart disease and so serve as an adjunctive diagnostic tool in several clinical situations. 5. 15. When time matters : Patients’ and spouses’ experiences of suspected acute myocardial infarction in the pre-hospital phase

    Author : Ingela Johansson; Eva Swahn; Johan Herlitz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; acute coronary syndrome; acute myocardial infarction; pre-hospital phase; symptom interpretation; decision-making; spouses; patient delay; ambulance utalisation; Cardiology; Kardiologi;

    Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to describe patients’ and spouses’ experiences of suspected acute myocardial infarction in the pre-hospital phase. A descriptive survey study was conducted to identify various factors influencing patient delay in 381 patients with suspected myocardial infarction hospitalised at a Coronary Care Unit (I) and ambulance utilisation among 110 myocardial infarction patients (II).
