6. Vascular dementia - classification and clinical correlates
Abstract : During the period (1976-1995) a total of 175 consecutive patients (m 88/f 87) with neuropathologically verified vascular dementia (VaD) were examined. 22 patients with pure Alzheimer's Disease (AD) were also studied. All patients were diagnosed and followed at the Department of Psychogeriatrics (Lund University Hospital). READ MORE

7. Cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers for differentiating between Alzheimer’s disease and Vascular dementia
Abstract : Patients suffering from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) run a higher risk of developing dementia, with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) being the most common form. Vascular dementia (VaD) is proposed to be the second most common dementia entity, and it includes the clinically relatively homogenous subgroup of subcortical vascular dementia (SVD). READ MORE

8. Magnetic resonance imaging markers of cerebral small vessel disease in an elderly population – association with cardiovascular disease and cognitive function
Abstract : Cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) is identifiable by clinical, neuroimaging, neuropathological and cognitive findings. The aim of this thesis was to assess SVD and cerebral perfusion on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in a 75-year-old population and compare the findings with scars of myocardial infarctions, cardiovascular risk markers and cognitive function. 9. Bilinear Regression and Second Order Calibration
Abstract : We consider calibration of second-order (or "hyphenated") instruments for chemical analysis. Many such instruments generate bilinear two-way (matrix) type data for each specimen. The bilinear regression model is to be estimated from a number of specimens of known composition. READ MORE

10. Cerebral arterial pulsatility imaging using 4D flow MRI : methodological development and applications in brain aging
Abstract : 4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly recognizedas a versatile tool to assess arterial and venous hemodynamics. Cerebral arterial pulsatility is typically assessed by analyzing flow waveforms over the cardiac cycle, where flow amplitude is a function of cardiac output, central arterial stiffness, and cerebrovascular resistance and compliance.
