  1. 1. Early Elementary School Interventions in Reading and Mathematics

    Author : Hanna Lindström-Sandahl; Henrik Danielsson; Stefan Samuelsson; Åsa Elwér; Joakim Samuelsson; Karin Landerl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Intervention; Special education; Instruction; Reading; Mathematics; Randomized controlled study; Follow-up; Elementary school; Intervention; Specialpedagogik; Undervisning; Läsning; Matematik; Randomiserad kontrollerad studie; Uppföljning; Grundskola;

    Abstract : Supplemental special education support in reading and mathematics is essential for some children who struggle to learn basic reading or mathematics skills in their first years of schooling. Previous research shows that supplemental phonics and early numeracy and arithmetic instruction help students at risk for reading or mathematics difficulties. READ MORE

  2. 2. Towards optical diagnostics and control in aerotaxy semiconductor nanowire growth

    Abstract : There are many examples of complex networks in science. It can be genetic regulation in living cells, computers on the Internet, or social and economic networks. In this context, Boolean networks provide simplistic models that are relatively easy to handle using computer simulations and mathematical methods. READ MORE

  4. 4. Prosody in Swedish Children with Language Impairment. Perceptual, Acoustic and Interactional Aspects

    Author : Christina Samuelsson; foniatri och audiologi Logopedi; []

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to explore prosodic problems in Swedish children with language impairment (LI). In the first study, 29 children with LI participated. They were assessed with an assessment procedure for prosody at the word, phrase and discourse levels, developed within this thesis. READ MORE

  5. 5. Humoral immunity during primate lentivirus infection : evaluation of B cell apoptosis and engineering of virus specific antibodies

    Author : Astrid Samuelsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The focus of this project was to evaluate the contribution of the humoral immunity in controlling infection with primate lentiviruses - an area which has implications both for vaccine design as well as for understanding of the pathogenesis of the disease. The first goal was to generate efficient neutralizing reagents which could be used for passive immunotherapy trials, preferably in the macaque system, and to investigate if peptide immunogens could elicit such antibodies.
