1. The impact of groundwater chemistry on the stability of bentonite colloids
READ MORE

2. Generation, stability and migration of montmorillonite colloids in aqueous systems
Abstract : In Sweden the encapsulated nuclear waste will be surrounded by compacted bentonite in the granitic host rock. In contact with water-bearing fractures the bentonite barrier may release montmorillonite colloids that may be further transported in groundwater. READ MORE

3. Programming Blood Cell Fates. Insights from Direct Lineage Conversion and Development
Abstract : Red blood cells (RBC) and platelets constitute the non-immune branch of the hematopoietic system and are responsible for the vital functions of transporting oxygen to the tissues and clotting blood vessel injuries, respectively. These cells are produced during embryonic development and throughout life through a process called hematopoiesis which is tightly regulated by extrinsic and intrinsic factors. READ MORE

4. Exploring bis-MPA Based Dendritic Structures in Biomedicine
Abstract : In the last decades there has been significant advances in polymer chemistry. New coupling chemistries, polymerization techniques and accelerated approaches enable researches to push the limits of structural control. READ MORE

5. Evolution of streamlined genomes in ultra-small aquatic bacteria
Abstract : This thesis investigates the evolutionary processes of streamlined genomes from aquatic bacteria adapting to different salinities, using two groups of ultra-small aquatic bacteria (LD12 Alphaproteobacteria and acI Actinobacteria). Due to difficulties in obtaining pure cultures of these bacteria, culture-free approaches (single-cell genomics and metagenomics) were used to construct and compare genomes, and to study the mechanisms and selective forces of adaptation to freshwater, brackish, and marine ecosystems.
