  2. 2. The mast cell transcriptome and the evolution of granule proteins and Fc receptors

    Author : Srinivas Akula; Lars Hellman; Sandra Kleinau; Arne Egesten; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Mast cell; Fc receptors; Granule serine protease; Evolution and transcriptome.; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Abstract : Protection against disease-causing pathogens, known as immunity, involves numerous cells organs, tissues and their products. To able to understand the biology of immune cells (hematopoietic cells) and their role in an immune system, we have used several different methods, including transcriptome analyses, bioinformatics, production of recombinant proteins and analyses of some of them, focusing on the granule proteases by substrate phage display. 3. 3. The Role of Fc Gamma Receptors in Experimental Arthritis

    Author : Maria Andrén; Sandra Kleinau; Birgitta Heyman; Roland Jonsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunology; Rheumatoid arthritis; Antibodies; Fc receptors; Complement; Transgenic Knockout mice; Immunologi; Immunology; Immunologi;

    Abstract : Induction of collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), an animal model for human rheumatoid arthritis, is dependent on anti-collagen type II (CII) antibodies. The effector mechanism by which autoantibodies contribute to inflammatory reactions in autoimmune diseases is not well understood. READ MORE

  4. 4. Early Immunostimulatory Effects of IgE- and IgG Antibodies

    Author : Fredrik Hjelm; Birgitta Heyman; Sandra Kleinau; Robert Harris; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Immunology; Antibodies; Fc receptors; Antigen presentation; B cells; T cells; Immunologi;

    Abstract : Antibodies have the ability to influence their own production in a process called antibody feedback regulation. Depending on the type of antigen and the subclass of the antibody, the outcome of feedback regulation can be complete suppression or several hundred-fold enhancement of the antibody response. 5. 5. The Role of Fc gamma Receptors and Mast Cell Chymase in Autoimmune Arthritis

    Author : Sofia Magnusson; Sandra Kleinau; Jeanette Leusen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fc gamma receptors; rheumatoid arthritis; antibodies; mast cells; mast cell; Immunology; Immunologi; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Abstract : In autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), self-reactive antibodies are present at high levels, which contributes to disease pathogenesis. The antibodies mediate their effect predominantly by binding to Fc gamma receptors (FcγR) on various leukocytes, such as monocytes, macrophages and mast cells, where FcγR ligation leads to cell activation.
