  1. 1. Interstitial Laser Thermotherapy of Liver Tumours. Methodology and Application

    Author : Páll Helgi Möller; Lund Kirurgi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Resection; Liver; Neoplasm; Blood flow; Monitoring; Feedback control; Light penetration; Bare fibre; Sapphire probe; Nd:YAG laser; Interstitial thermotherapy; Hyperthermia; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Abstract : Interstitial laser thermotherapy (ILT) is a method well suited for selective local destruction of malignant tumours. In the present work, a laser thermotherapy system based on feedback temperature control of energy delivery (through computerised feedback system) was developed. READ MORE

  3. 3. Time-resolved laser spectroscopic studies of atoms, ions and Molecules

    Author : Zhongshan Li; Fysiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2000:Li;

    Abstract : Time-resolved laser spectroscopy has been performed to study the radiative properties of various microscopic systems. Using Laser-Induced Fluorescence (LIF) techniques, natural radiative lifetimes have been studied not only in neutral B, S, Ge, Ce, Pb, and in singly ionized V, Fe, Zr, Mo, La, Ce, Eu, Gd and Yb, but also in doubly ionized La, Ce, Pr, Eu, Er, Gd, Tm, Lu, and W. 4. 4. Novel tantalate-niobate films for microwaves

    Author : Jang-Yong Kim; Alex Grishin; Andrey B. Kozyrev; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ferroelectrics; sodium potassium niobates; silver tantalate niobate; barium stronitium titanate; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : Microwave materials have been widely used in a variety of applications ranging from communication devices to military satellite services, and the study of materials properties at microwave frequencies and the development of functional microwave materials have always been among the most active areas in solid-state physics, materials science, and electrical and electronic engineering. In recent years, the increasing requirements for the development of high speed, high frequency circuits and systems require complete understanding of the properties of materials function at microwave frequencies. 5. 5. Electronic materials : growth and characterisation

    Author : Michael A. Grishin; Ulf O. Karlsson; Massimo Sancrotti; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrophysics; Photoemission; Ultra-short laser pulse; Thin film; Laser deposition; InSb; InAs; GaSb; Ferroelectrics; Elektrofysik; Electrophysics; Elektrofysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis the InSb(111), InAs(111) and GaSb(001) surfaces have been studied by means of time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy based upon the femtosecond laser system. The pump-and-probe technique allows to analyse both electron states in the valence band and normally unpopulated electron states above the valence band, which can be occupied by transiently excited carriers at the optically pumped surface.
