  1. 1. Z-Series : Mining and learning from complex sequential data

    Author : Zed Lee; Panagiotis Papapetrou; Tony Lindgren; Toon Calders; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; data- och systemvetenskap; Computer and Systems Sciences;

    Abstract : The amount and complexity of sequential data collected across various domains have grown rapidly, posing significant challenges for extracting useful knowledge from such data sources. The complexity arises from diverse sequence representations with varying granularities, such as multivariate time series, histogram snapshots, and heterogeneous health records, which often describe a single data instance with multiple sequences. 3. 3. Automorphic forms and string theory: Small automorphic representations and non-perturbative effects

    Author : Henrik Gustafsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; instantons; automorphic forms; automorphic representations; Eisenstein series; U-duality; non-perturbative effects; string theory;

    Abstract : This compilation thesis stems from a project with the purpose of determining non-perturbative contributions to scattering amplitudes in string theory carrying important information about instantons, black hole quantum states and M-theory. The scattering amplitudes are functions on the moduli space invariant under the discrete U-duality group and this invariance is one of the defining properties of an automorphic form. READ MORE

  4. 4. Algorithms and Representations for Personalised Information Access

    Author : Rickard Cöster; Lars Asker; Haym Hirsh; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Personalised information access systems use historical feedback data, such as implicit and explicit ratings for textual documents and other items, to better locate the right or relevant information for individual users.Three topics in personalised information access are addressed: learning from relevance feedback and document categorisation by the use of concept-based text representations, the need for scalable and accurate algorithms for collaborative filtering, and the integration of textual and collaborative information access. 5. 5. From Numerical Sensor Data to Semantic Representations : A Data-driven Approach for Generating Linguistic Descriptions

    Author : Hadi Banaee; Amy Loutfi; Erik Schaffernicht; Andrey Kiselev; Mobyen Ahmed; Antonio Chella; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Semantic representations; Conceptual spaces; Natural language generation; Temporal rule mining; Physiological sensors; Health monitoring system;

    Abstract : In our daily lives, sensors recordings are becoming more and more ubiquitous. With the increased availability of data comes the increased need of systems that can represent the data in human interpretable concepts. READ MORE
