  1. 16. Interdomain Traffic Engineering and Faster Restoration in Optical Networks

    Author : Americo Francisco Muchanga; Björn Pehrson; Lena Wosinska; Fredrik Orava; Mouftah Hussein; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Interdomain Routing; Network Recovery; Restoration in Optical Networks; Optics; Optik;

    Abstract : Internet traffic has surpassed voice traffic and is dominating in transmission networks. The Internet Protocol (IP) is now being used to encapsulate various kinds of services. The new services have different requirements than the initial type of traffic that was carried by the Internet network and IP. READ MORE

  2. 17. Recycling and durability of PVC materials focusing on pre- and post-consumer wastes from building products

    Author : Nazdaneh Yarahmadi; SP – Sveriges Tekniska Forskningsinstitut *(2016-12-31) SP – Sveriges Tekniska Forskningsinstitut; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Accelerated ageing; Activation energy; Annealing; Cables; Dehydrochlorination; Dismantling; DSC; Elongation at break; Emissions; Energy recovery; Flooring; Heat ageing; Lifetime; Orientation; Physical ageing; Plasticised PVC; Plasticiser depletion; Profiles; Recycling; Repeated extrusion; Residual stability; Rigid PVC; Sustainable building; Chlorination; Degradation; Durability; Mechanical properties; Plastic building materials; Plasticizers; Stabilizers agents ; Tensile properties; Molecular level; Polyvinyl chlorides;

    Abstract : The potential for recycling various polymeric materials contained within buildings constructed in the late 1960s and 1970s in Sweden was investigated during the course of this work. Three residential blocks were studied to establish the quantity of materials available for recycling, to investigate the difficulty in and time needed for the dismantling of the buildings, the degree of purity of the materials, and the possibility of separating the materials. 3. 18. Elucidating the Influence of Food Packaging Attributes on Source-separation of Food Packaging Waste at Home

    Author : Babak Nemat; Kamran Rousta; Isabel Ordonez; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Household waste; packaging attributes; packaging waste; consumer s recycling behavior; Resource Recovery; Resursåtervinning;

    Abstract : The global amount of waste generated by households, including food packaging waste, has been increasing continuously across the world, posing a massive threat to societies and the environment. Proper waste management, therefore, has become a challenging environmental issue and a priority for governments. READ MORE

  4. 19. Designing out waste - Exploring barriers for material recirculation

    Author : Isabel Ordonez Pizarro; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; waste sorting; sustainable development; Water; Waste; Urban; waste management; Resources; resource recovery; Recycling; designing with waste; recycling;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis has investigated what hinders material recirculation in society, to later suggest possible ways to support material recirculation in the future. Since material recirculation is proposed as a way to use waste materials for new production, it was deemed relevant to investigate two separate case studies that enabled recirculation from production systems and waste management. 5. 20. Pharmacokinetic dosing of factor VIII and factor IX in prophylactic treatment of haemophilia

    Author : Maj Carlsson; Malmö Klinisk koagulationsmedicin; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Haematology; Prophylaxis; Pharmacokinetics; Pharmaceutical service; Haemophilia B; Haemophilia A; Factor IX; Factor VIII; Drug distribution; Cost-effectiveness; Dosage; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor;

    Abstract : The aim of the thesis was to increase cost-effectiveness in prophylactic treatment of haemophilia. Prophylaxis is effective to prevent bleedings and arthropathy, but the high cost limits its use. First, a new distribution system for clotting factor concentrates was implemented in Sweden to improve availability and reduce risks and costs. READ MORE
