11. Verification of dose calculations in radiotherapy
Abstract : External radiotherapy is a common treatment technique for cancer. It has been shown that radiation therapy is a both clinically and economically effective treatment for many types of cancer, even though the equipment is expensive. The technology is in constant evolution and more and more sophisticated and complex techniques are introduced. READ MORE

12. Volatized Tellurium Interactions with Organics and with Boric Acid
Abstract : Tellurium is a volatile fission product with a complex chemistry that must be accounted for in case of a nuclear accident. Specifically, its interactions with organic species and with boric acid, both which are expected in the accident chemistry, are largely unknown. READ MORE

13. High Performance Fuels for Water-Cooled Reactor Systems
Abstract : Investigation of nitride fuels and their properties has, for decades, been propelled on the basis of their desirable high metal densities and high thermal conductivities, both of which oer intrinsic advantages to performance, economy, and safety in fast and light water reactor systems. In this time several key obstacles have been identied as impeding the implementation of these fuels for commercial applications; namely chemical interactions with air and steam, the noted diculty in sintering of the material, and the high costs associated with the enrichment of 15N. 14. Modeling and analysis of heat and mass transfer processes during in-vessel melt progression stage of light water reactor (LWR) severe accidents
Abstract : The last two decades of nuclear industry are marked byconsiderable attention tonuclear power plant accidents with core meltdown, knownalsoas severe accidents(SA). Two wellknown severeaccidents, TMI (USA, 1979) and Chernobyl (USSR, 1986), igniteda new wave of publit cancern about safety of existing nuclearpower plants. READ MORE

15. Development, validation and application of an effective convectivity model for simulation of melt pool heat transfer in a light water reactor lower head
Abstract : Severe accidents in a Light Water Reactor (LWR) have been a subject of the research for the last three decades. The research in this area aims to further understanding of the inherent physical phenomena and reduce the uncertainties surrounding their quantification, with the ultimate goal of developing models that can be applied to safety analysis of nuclear reactors.
