1. Innate immunity in progressive multiple sclerosis
Abstract : Multiple sclerosis is (MS) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease of central nervous system (CNS) leading to demyelination, axonal damage and neurological handicap, often affecting young adults. A majority of patients with MS initiate their disease with clinical bouts and relapses, but with time convert to a progressive course with dampened signs of CNS inflammation but increasing neurological deficits. 2. Degradation of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber and fluoroelastomers in rapeseed biodiesel and hydrogenated vegetable oil
Abstract : Biodiesel and hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) are currently viewed by the transportation sector as the most viable alternative fuels to replace petroleum-based fuels. The use of biodiesel has, however, been limited by the deteriorative effect of biodiesel on rubber parts in automobile fuel systems. READ MORE

3. Deterioration of recent oak by iron compound : a comparison with Vasa oak
Abstract : Wood degradation in the historical warship Vasa has been studied systematically regarding the chemical and physical properties. The presence of iron(II) seems to be one important factor for the degradation of the wood, causing reduction of its tensile strength. This is unfortunately a serious problem as iron(II) compounds are abundant in Vasa wood. READ MORE

4. Implication of chemical deterioration on mechanical performance of wood
Abstract : The oak wood of the 17th century warship Vasa has shown significant changes in the chemical and mechanical properties as compared to recent oak. The most important factors contributing to these changes are the incorporation of iron compounds during waterlogging and the uptake of polyethylene glycol (PEG) in the course of the preservation treatment. 5. Development of a Methodology for Dynamic Testing of Rock Support : Field Tests and Numerical Analysis
Abstract : The increasing mining depth in the Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag (LKAB) mine located in the northern part of Sweden leads to higher stress magnitudes, resulting in increased seismic activity and more seismically-induced damage. The effectiveness of various ground support systems under dynamic loading conditions has therefore become of prime interest to LKAB for successful and safe mining at deep levels. READ MORE
