  1. 1. Vision-based Human Detection from Mobile Machinery in Industrial Environments

    Author : Rafael Mosberger; Achim J. Lilienthal; Henrik Andreasson; Jürgen Gall; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Industrial Safety; Mobile Machinery; Human Detection; Computer Vision; Machine Learning; Infrared Vision; High-visibility Clothing; Reflective Markers; Datavetenskap; Computer Science;

    Abstract : The problem addressed in this thesis is the detection, localisation and tracking of human workers from mobile industrial machinery using a customised vision system developed at Örebro University. Coined the RefleX Vision System, its hardware configuration and computer vision algorithms were specifically designed for real-world industrial scenarios where workers are required to wear protective high-visibility garments with retro-reflective markers. 2. 2. Public road safety policy change and its implementation : Vision zero a road safety policy innovation

    Author : Matts-Åke Belin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Vision Zero;

    Abstract : It has been estimated that, worldwide, the number of people killed in road traffic crashes each year is almost 1.2 million, while the number of injured could be as high as 50 million. READ MORE

  3. 3. Data-Efficient Representation Learning for Grasping and Manipulation

    Author : Ahmet Ercan Tekden; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Learning from Demonstration; Generative Modeling; Neural Fields; Robot Learning; Data-efficient Representation Learning; Grasping; Robot Manipulation;

    Abstract : General-purpose robotics require adaptability to environmental variations and, therefore, need effective representations for programming them. A common way to acquire such representations is through machine learning. Machine learning has shown great potential in computer vision, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and robotics. READ MORE

  4. 4. Representation Learning and Information Fusion : Applications in Biomedical Image Processing

    Author : Elisabeth Wetzer; Nataša Sladoje; Fred Hamprecht; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Representation Learning; Texture Descriptors; Equivariant Neural Networks; Contrastive Learning; Image Classification; Image Registration; Image Retrieval; Digital Pathology; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Abstract : In recent years Machine Learning and in particular Deep Learning have excelled in object recognition and classification tasks in computer vision. As these methods extract features from the data itself by learning features that are relevant for a particular task, a key aspect of this remarkable success is the amount of data on which these methods train.
