1. Machine Learning methods in shotgun proteomics
Abstract : As high-throughput biology experiments generate increasing amounts of data, the field is naturally turning to data-driven methods for the analysis and extraction of novel insights. These insights into biological systems are crucial for understanding disease progression, drug targets, treatment development, and diagnostics methods, ultimately leading to improving human health and well-being, as well as, deeper insight into cellular biology. 2. Integrative Approaches in Shotgun Proteomics : From sample preparation to multifaceted data analysis
Abstract : Bottom-up proteomics mass-spectrometry gives an opportunity to shed light on var-ious biological aspects/characteristics such as protein composition, its modifications, interactions, and dynamics. Its applications span a wide range of biological sciencesaiming to eventually answer fundamental disease related questions or evaluate drugperformance and predict adverse effects. READ MORE

3. Proteomics in biomarker research : Insights into the effects of aging and environment on biological systems
Abstract : Proteomics is the global analysis of proteins that covers a broad range of technologies aimed at determining the identity and quantity of proteins expressed in the cell, their three-dimensional structure and interaction partners. In contrast to genome, proteome reflects more accurately on the dynamic state of the cell, tissue, or an organism. READ MORE

4. The accuracy of statistical confidence estimates in shotgun proteomics
Abstract : High-throughput techniques are currently some of the most promising methods to study molecular biology, with the potential to improve medicine and enable new biological applications. In proteomics, the large scale study of proteins, the leading method is mass spectrometry. READ MORE

5. The Heterocysts of Nostoc punctiforme : From Proteomics to Energy Transfer
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to provide a thorough characterization of the photosynthetic machinery from the heterocysts of Nostoc punctiforme strain ATCC 29133. In this thesis I describe the protocols I have optimized for the isolation of thylakoids from vegetative cells, the purification of heterocysts and the isolation of thylakoids from the purified heterocysts.
