  1. 1. Single-Zone Cylinder Pressure Modeling and Estimation for Heat Release Analysis of SI Engines

    Author : Markus Klein; Lars Eriksson; Lars Nielsen; Per Tunstål; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; heat release; parameter estimation; prior knowledge; regularization; specific heat ratio; compression ratio; Systems engineering; Systemteknik;

    Abstract : Cylinder pressure modeling and heat release analysis are today important and standard tools for engineers and researchers, when developing and tuning new engines. Being able to accurately model and extract information from the cylinder pressure is important for the interpretation and validity of the result. READ MORE

  2. 2. A specific heat ratio model and compression ratio estimation

    Author : Marcus Klein; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Cylinder pressure modeling and heat release analysis are today important and standard tools for engineers and researchers, when developing and tuning new engines. An accurate specific heat ratio model is important for an accurate heat release analysis, since the specific heat ratio couples the systems energy to other thermodynamic quantities. READ MORE

  3. 3. Palladium Catalyzed Methane Oxidation for Emission Control

    Author : Ida Friberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; water deactivation; methane oxidation; regeneration; Pd beta; Pd Al2O3; Si Al ratio; Ba; sulfur poisoning; Pd SSZ-13;

    Abstract : The use of methane based fuels, such as natural gas and biogas, benefits from lower emissions of CO2, CO, NOx, non-methane HC, SOx and particulate matters compared to traditionally used liquid fossil fuels. However, the exhaust gases contain significant levels of unburnt CH4 residuals, which are desirable to minimize since CH4 is a strong greenhouse gas with high global warming potential. READ MORE

  4. 4. Nitrous Oxide Formation over Zeolite-based Catalysts during Ammonia-SCR: The Effect of Framework Structure, Acidity, and Copper Content

    Author : Ghodsieh Isapour Toutizad; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Copper content; In situ IR spectroscopy; Heterogeneous catalysis; N2O; Si Al molar ratio; SCR; Zeolites;

    Abstract : The emission control of anthropogenic nitrous oxide (N2O), a by-product formed  through fossil- and renewable fuel combustion, agricultural activities, and industrial  chemical processes, has attracted large considerations due to its substantial contribution  in global warming and ozone layer depletion. Selective catalytic reduction with  ammonia (NH3-SCR) is the most prevailing technology for the abatement of nitrogen  oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gases from lean-burn processes, with the possible formation  of N2O. 5. 5. The influence of microstructure on the crack initiation and propagation in Al-Si casting alloys

    Author : Toni Bogdanoff; Salem Seifeddine; Ehsan Ghassemali; Anders E.W. Jarfors; Johan Moverare; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aluminum-Silicon alloys; scanning electron microscopy; material characterization; fatigue performance; digital image correlation;

    Abstract : For reducing the CO2 footprint in many industrial fields, the goal is to produce lighter components. The aluminium-silicon (Al-Si) cast alloys are promising candidates to fulfill these goals with a high weight-to-strength ratio, good corrosion properties, excellent castability, and recyclable material.
