  1. 1. Graphene-based nanocomposites for electronics and photocatalysis

    Author : Ebrahim Chalangar; Håkan Pettersson; Magnus Willander; Omer Nour; Maria Messing; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Graphene; Zinc oxide; Silver iodine; Plasmonics; Nanocomposites; Conjugated electronics; Photocatalysis; Photodegradation;

    Abstract : The development of future electronics depends on the availability of suitable functional materials. Printed electronics, for example, relies on access to highly conductive, inexpensive and printable materials, while strong light absorption and low carrier recombination rates are demanded in photocatalysis industry. 2. 2. Some New Methods in Sialic Acid Chemistry

    Author : Teddy Ercegovic; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thioglycoside promoter; ganglioside; Tumor-associated antigen; lactam; lactone; sialic acid; N-acetylneuraminic acid; Neu5Ac; sialyl donor; auxiliary group; 3- S -phenylthio; bis-sialic acid lactam; 3- S -phenylseleno; silver trifluoromethanesulfonate; iodine monochloride; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Gangliosides (G) are sialic acid-containing cell surface glycosphingolipids capable of forming lactones, i.e. inner esters. Some gangliosides are tumor-associated antigens, and they may serve as immunogens in their lactone form, where the latter is comparatively more abundant on the surface of malignant cells. READ MORE

  4. 4. Supercritical Hydrogenation of Vegetable Oils

    Author : Maj-Britt Macher; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; palladium catalyst; supercritical; hydrogenation; silver ion HPLC; rapeseed oil; fatty acid methyl ester; trans fatty acid; palm oil; deactivation; propane;

    Abstract : Vegetable oils were hydrogenated in a supercritical single-phase mixture with propane and hydrogen. The reaction was carried out in a small (0.5 ml) fixed-bed reactor and the influence of different process parameters was investigated. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development of Catalytic ElectrophilicTrifluoromethylation and Fluorination Methods

    Author : Nadia Ilchenko; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis is focused on development of new catalytic, electrophilic fluorination and trifluoromethylation methods of alkenes. These reactions were carried out using hypervalent trifluoromethyl and fluoroiodine reagents.The first project involved copper catalyzed oxytrifluoromethylation of terminal alkenes and alkynes.
