  1. 1. Jet Production and Parton Dynamics in Deep Inelastic Scattering

    Author : Mattias Davidsson; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum field theory; Elementary particle physics; DIS; ep scattering; HERA; H1; jets; small-x; Parton Dynamics; Elementarpartikelfysik; kvantfältteori; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Davidsson;

    Abstract : Hard QCD processes have been studied by measuring the di-jet event rate for deep inelastic scattering in the kinematic range 5 < Q2 < 100 GeV2 and 10-4 < x < 10-2. The jets we re reconstructed using the cone algorithm in the hadronic center-of-mass frame in which the transverse momentum of the jets were required to be greater than 5 GeV. READ MORE

  2. 2. A Study of Parton Dynamics from Deep Inelastic Scattering Events Containing a Jet in the Forward Direction

    Author : Martin Karlsson; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum field theory; Elementary particle physics; DIS; ep scattering; H1; jets; forward jet; small-x; parton dynamics; Elementarpartikelfysik; kvantfältteori; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Karlsson;

    Abstract : The DIS ep-scattering parton dynamics at low-x is characterised by an initial state cascade in which the virtualities of the propagator gluons are expected to take any kinematically allowed value, in contrast to the leading log behaviour. These dynamics might be enhanced by selecting events in which an energetic jet is found in the forward angular region at HERA, 1. READ MORE

  3. 3. Forward Jet Production in ep-collisions at HERA

    Author : Albert Knutsson; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Forward Jets; Parton dynamics; Jets; Small-x; Low-x; Elementary particle physics; QCD; quantum field theory; Elementarpartikelfysik; kvantfältteori; Fysicumarkivet A:2007:Knutsson;

    Abstract : The production of forward jets has been measured in deep inelastic $ep$ collisions at HERA. The results are presented in terms of single differential cross sections as a function of the Bjorken scaling variable ($x_{Bj}$) and as triple differential cross sections $d^3 sigma / dx_{Bj}dQ^2dp_{t,jet}^2$, where $Q^2$ is the four momentum transfer squared and $p_{t,jet}^2$ is the squared transverse momentum of the forward jet. 4. 4. Nonlinear Evolution in High Energy QCD

    Author : Emil Avsar; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Elementarpartikelfysik; quantum field theory; DIS; Elementary particle physics; Saturation; QCD; Small-x Physics; kvantfältteori; High energy interactions; cosmic rays; Kosmisk strålning; högenergi;

    Abstract : QCD at very high energies is still not very well understood. Difficulties arise from a strong non-linear dynamics and also from nonperturbative physics. Detailed analytic calculations are often only possible either for simple toy models, or for asymptotically high energies. READ MORE

  5. 5. Small-Animal Imaging with Liquid-Metal-Jet X-Ray Sources

    Author : Daniel Larsson; Hans Hertz; Anna Burvall; David Paterson; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; X-ray; x-ray imaging; small animal; phase contrast; tomography; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Small-animal x-ray imaging is an important tool for medical research. The penetration power of x-rays makes it possible to investigate the 3D structure of small animals and other thick biological samples by computed tomography (CT). READ MORE
