1. Constitutive Modelling and Finite Element Analysis of Concrete Structures with Regard to Environmental Influence
Abstract : A constitutive model for concrete is formulated. Tensile fracture is described using a smeared crack approach where the fracrure energy is considered and the shear stiffneess in the cracked region is gradually reduced as crackling develops. READ MORE

2. Shear cracks in concrete structures subjected to in-plane stresses
Abstract : After only two years of service, extensive cracking was found in the webs of two light-rail commuter line bridges in Stockholm, the Gröndal and Alvik bridges. Due to this incident it was found necessary to study the means available for analysing shear cracking in concrete structures subjected to in-plane stresses. READ MORE

3. Flexural Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Beams Using Externally Bonded CFRP--An Innovative Method for the Application of Prestressed CFRP Laminates
Abstract : A large number of existing bridges in European countries are structurally deficient and functionally obsolete due to the deterioration of aging bridges and the lack of structural and geometric capacity to accommodate the increasing traffic volume and load levels. To meet the demand for holistic and effective strengthening techniques the SUREBRIDGE solution is proposed for the refurbishment of concrete bridges, which includes the technique of using prestressed carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminate as externally bonded reinforcement for flexural strengthening. 4. Modelling of Transport Processes Involved in Service Life Prediction of Concrete : Important Principles
Abstract : The main focus in this licentiate thesis is a description of the environmentally introduced action of diffusing and chemically reactive (e.g. carbonation and chemical-physical adsorption-desorption) matter in the pore solution and in the air-filled space in the pore system of the material. 5. In-Plane Fracture of Paper
Abstract : The in-plane failure of paper is studied in this work by means of a cohesive crack model from experimental as well as theoretical perspectives. Localized damage at in-plane tension of short paper strips is studied for low strain rates. READ MORE
