  1. 1. Microstructural manipulation by laser irradiation of prepared samples : The ’Snapshot Method’

    Author : Stephanie Robertson; Alexander F.H. Kaplan; Fredrik Sikström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Produktionsutveckling; Manufacturing Systems Engineering;

    Abstract : Various metallurgical microstructures and their formation are studied in this thesis by using a laser beam to melt a variety of materials with different chemical compositions over a range of thermal cycles. The laser beam was used conventionally in a narrow gap multi-layer weld, used for welding large depths with filler wire additions, as well as a non-traditional simulated welding approach labelled here as the Snapshot method. 2. 2. Laser welding and laser heat treatment of high strength steels

    Author : Stephanie Robertson; Alexander Kaplan; Jan Frostevarg; Antti Salminen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser welding; heat treatment; high strength steel; Snapshot method; microstructure; Produktionsutveckling; Manufacturing Systems Engineering;

    Abstract : Laser materials processing, including thermal treatment and laser welding has been undergoing continuous growth in the manufacturing industry for decades. A laser beam offers high precision and energy transfer, capable of various processing. READ MORE

  3. 3. Efficient and Practical Non-Blocking Data Structures

    Author : Håkan Sundell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; shared data structure; abstract data type; snapshot; lock-free; priority queue; synchronization; non-blocking; skip list; shared memory; deque; real-time; doubly linked list; dictionary; wait-free; shared register;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with how to design and implement efficient, practical and reliable concurrent data structures. The design method using mutual exclusion incurs serious drawbacks, whereas the alternative non-blocking techniques avoid those problems and also admit improved parallelism. READ MORE

  4. 4. Frequency Recognition Algorithm for Multiple Exposures : Snapshot imaging using coded light

    Author : Karolina Dorozynska; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Snapshot imaging; structured illumination; structured light; multispectral; fluorescence; frequency encoding; image multiplexing; lock-in detection; Fysicumarkivet A:2020:Dorozynska;

    Abstract : The central challenge tackled in this thesis is the development of an optical imaging approach capable of multidimensional image capture of dynamic samples. Many conventional optical imaging approaches, which can obtain dimensional information such as spectral, polarisation, or volumetric, to name a few, about samples either employ sequential image capture or parallelised detector arrangements. 5. 5. Estimation Using Low Rank Signal Models

    Author : Kaushik Mahata; Torsten Söderström; Mats Viberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; parameter estimation; separable least squares; statistical analysis; viscoelasticity; subspace algorithms; spectrum estimation; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Abstract : Designing estimators based on low rank signal models is a common practice in signal processing. Some of these estimators are designed to use a single low rank snapshot vector, while others employ multiple snapshots. This dissertation deals with both these cases in different contexts. READ MORE
