16. Creating always-best-connected multimedia applications for the 4:th generation wireless systems
Abstract : This thesis describes an application-layer framework for managing network connectivity in the 4th-generation wireless systems, which will consist of overlapping heterogeneous networks. If multiple access networks are present, users will have a choice to access the Internet through the “best” available network. READ MORE

17. Titled and graded anisotropy FePt and FePtCu thin films for the application of hard disk drive and spin torque oscillators
Abstract : The FePt and FePtCu thin films with graded anisotropy and titled anisotropy are utilized to solve both the magnetic recording ‘‘trilemma’’ of the hard disk drives (HDDs) and the large field operation problem of spin torque oscillators (STOs). We have successfully realized the FePtCu thin films with graded anisotropy. READ MORE

18. On integrity assessment of IGBT-based power stacks used in magnet power supplies for particle accelerators
Abstract : This thesis analyses an electrical testing method for assessing the integrity of an IGBT-based power stack assembly during factory acceptance tests and service stops. The method combines vce measurements with high current in the Zero Temperature Coefficient (ZTC) operating region and with low sensing current within a specific current cycle using a proposed sampling and filtering technique. 19. High-Efficiency SiC Power Conversion : Base Drivers for Bipolar Junction Transistors and Performance Impacts on Series-Resonant Converters
Abstract : This thesis aims to bring an understanding to the silicon carbide (SiC) bipolar junction transistor (BJT). SiC power devices are superior to the silicon IGBT in several ways. They are for instance, able to operate with higher efficiency, at higher frequencies, and at higher junction temperatures. READ MORE
