  1. 1. Solid-phase glycoconjugate synthesis on-resin analysis with gel-phase ¹9F NMR spectroscopy

    University dissertation from Umeå : Kemi

    Author : Mickael Mogemark; Umeå universitet.; [2005]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Solid-phase synthesis; protective groups; linkers; monitoring; gel-phase; 19F NMR spectroscopy; carbohydrates; oligosaccharides; glycopeptides; Organisk kemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Organic chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : An efficient and versatile non-destructive method to analyze the progress of solid-phase glycoconjugate synthesis with gel-phase 19F NMR spectroscopy is described. The method relies on use of fluorinated linkers and building blocks carrying fluorinated protective groups. READ MORE

  2. 2. Methodological studies in solid phase synthesis : Linkers and applications of multi-component condensations

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Institutionen för neurokemi

    Author : Mikael Erlandsson; Stockholms universitet.; [2006]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Solid phase peptide synthesis; solid phase organic chemistry; linkers; self-scavenging; safety catch linker; cyclic peptides; reductive acidolysis; disulfides; reduction; metallic zinc; multi-component condensations; combinatorial chemistry; MEDICINE Chemistry Neurochemistry; MEDICIN Kemi Neurokemi;

    Abstract : Solid phase synthesis has become an increasingly important tool in the synthesis of oligopolymers and small organic molecules. This thesis covers three important areas in the solid phase synthesis technique: linker strategies, reduction methods and novel routes to complex heterocycles. READ MORE

  3. 3. Synthesis, conformational analysis, and biological evaluation of peptides from E. coli P pilus proteins

    University dissertation from Organic Chemistry, Lund University

    Author : Katarina Flemmer Karlsson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [1997]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NMR spectroscopy; CD spectroscopy; peptide structure; ELISA; solid-phase peptide synthesis; peptide; P pili; chaperone; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Many bacteria utilize hairlike protein appendages (pili) to attach themselves to mucosal cell surfaces in the host organism. The pilus is assembled from protein subunits synthesized inside the bacteria and transported to the outer cell wall for incorporation into the growing pilus. READ MORE

  4. 4. Synthesis of Aldehyde-Functionalized Building Blocks and Their Use for the Cyclization of Peptides Applications to Angiotensin II

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Petra Johannesson; Uppsala universitet.; [2002]

    Abstract : This study addresses the issue of how to convert peptides into drug-like non- peptides with retained biological activities at peptide receptors. Angiotensin II (Asp-Arg-Val-Tyr-Ile-His-Pro-Phe, Ang II) was used as a model peptide. READ MORE

  5. 5. Antigens derived from the mucin MUC1 Solution and solid-phase synthesis of saccharides, peptides and glycopeptides

    University dissertation from Umeå : Kemi

    Author : Maciej Pudelko; Umeå universitet.; [2008]

    Abstract : Mucin is a term used to describe a large family of heavily glycosylated proteins which are present on the surfaces of secretory epithelial cells and are overexpressed by many carcinomas. Membrane-bound mucin MUC1 is of special interest. Its backbone consists of repeating units of twenty amino acids with five potential glycosylation sites. READ MORE
