17. 13C-Enriched Dehydrogenation Polymers Used for Studying Light-Induced Yellowing of Lignocellulosic Materials
Abstract : This study deals with the use of selectively 13C-enriched dehydrogenation polymers (DHPs) as models of lignin in lignocellulosic materials for elucidating the reaction pathways involved in light-induced yellowing. Methods for the synthesis of coniferin, a precursor to lignin and DHP, selectively 13C-enriched in the aromatic ring (positions 1, 3, 4, and 5) have been developed. READ MORE

18. Study of retention mechanisms in Hydrophilic Interaction Chromatography by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis deals with investigations of the retention mechanisms in hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The aims are to understand how the different types of stationary phases can influence the retention of various solutes and the adsorption abilities of solvent on stationary phases. READ MORE

19. Concentrated DNA-amphiphiles Structure, Hydration, and Dynamics
Abstract : The structure, hydration, and dynamics of concentrated DNA-amphiphile complexes were investigated by small-angle X-ray diffraction, sorption calorimetry, and nuclear magnetic resonance. A concentrated, electroneutral, DNA-amphiphile complex can be formed by mixing charge-stoichiometric solutions. READ MORE

20. Evaluation of NMR Knight shifts in metallic nanoparticles and topological matter
Abstract : Elucidating the surface electron states of transition metal compounds is of primary importance in main heterogeneous catalytic processes, such as the hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions. Key property in all these processes is the position of the energy of the d-band center relative to the Fermi-level of the catalyst; it must be shifted close to the Fermi level to achieve balance between adsorption and desorption of the catalyst and the adsorbate.
