  1. 21. A few aspects of aircraft noise

    Author : Crispin Dickson; Shafiquzzaman Khan; Mendel Kleiner; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; paired comparison; sorting based paired comparison; sorting algorithms; mergesort; quicksort; aircraft sound synthesis; aircraft noise; sound quality; tonal effects; angle positions; flight conditions; methods of equalization; cognition; Acoustics; Akustik;

    Abstract : A few aspects of aircraft noise were evaluated. These were (i) methods of subjective evaluations, (ii) effects of equalization and (iii) the effects of cognitive aspects.In the first paper, sorting algorithms were used instead of conventional paired comparison method in order to reduce the number of pairs in the evaluation of subjective judgments. 2. 22. Indoor Environment and User Perception. A Field Study in a Hospital Ward

    Author : Jennie Skoog; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; indoor environment; thermal climate; hospital ward; indoor air quality; comfort; perception; sound; light;

    Abstract : The research on indoor environment has become more important and extensive the last decades. There is, however, a lack of studies made in buildings with two or more distinct groups of people. This study deals with hospital wards, which are a prime example of buildings occupied by more than one homogenous group of people. READ MORE

  3. 23. Ergonomics Methods and Work Procedures in Car Manufacturing for Improvement of Quality, Productivity and Health at Work

    Author : Ann-Christine Falck; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cost-benefit; ergonomics; manufacturing; productivity; risk assessment; quality;

    Abstract : Many studies have concluded that there are great human and economic gains in finding ergonomically sound solutions as early as possible in product and production development. Hence, the objective of the research presented in this thesis was to evaluate methods for improved ergonomics assessment in early phases of product and production development and in production.
