1. Theoretical Modeling and Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Monitoring of Vial Lyophilization
Abstract : The research documented in this thesis was directed towards lyophilization of pharmaceuticals in vials (vial lyophilization) and it was focused on the design and control of this process. Theoretical modeling has considerable potential to guide experimental studies, thereby decreasing development time and improving the possibilities to achieve an optimal and robust process design. 2. Environmental Monitoring by Multi-Spectral Lidar Techniques
Abstract : Multi-spectral lidar (light detection and ranging) techniques have been developed and employed in various environmental studies, ranging from concentration mapping of volcanic emissions to fluorescence imaging of historical monuments. In both absorption measurements of gaseous species and fluorescence imaging of stones, multiple wavelength excitation and multiple wavelength detection have been applied. READ MORE

3. Spectral analysis in laser powder bed fusion
Abstract : This thesis is about the investigation of the spectral interaction of electromagnetic radiation with metal powders. For this purpose, spectral data of powders for laser powder bed fusion processes are investigated in three papers using different techniques. READ MORE

5. Variability of blood pressure and heart rate in borderline and mild hypertension : With special reference to spectral analysis
Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to study whether blood pressure (BP) or heart rate (HR) variability in borderline (BHT) and hypertensive (HT) subjects differs from that in normotensive (NT) subjects, and whether indices for BP and HR variability can be used in risk stratification for future hypertension. The study groups consisted of 35 NT, 29 BHT, and 34 HT middle-aged men. READ MORE
