1. Engineering Magnetic Droplets in Nanocontact Spin-Torque Nano-Oscillators
Abstract : Spin-torque nano-oscillators (STNOs) are nanoscale spintronic devices capable of generating highly tunable broadband microwave signals. In this thesis, I study nanocontact (NC)-based STNOs using strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA) free layers, where a novel magnetic soliton—a magnetic droplet—exists. READ MORE

2. Magnetodynamics of pseudo spin valves investigated using co-planar waveguide and spin torque ferromagnetic resonance techniques
Abstract : Nanocontact spin-torque nano-oscillators (NC-STNOs), based on magnetic multilayers, can generate a wide range of highly nonlinear localized and propagating spin wave modes for use in magnonics. In this thesis, we study some aspects of these structures from the fundamental physics point of view using the spin torque ferromagnetic resonance technique (ST-FMR) and conventional broadband FMR technique. 3. Spin Torque and Spin Hall Nano-Oscillators with Single Magnetic Layers
Abstract : Spin-torque oscillators (STOs) are capable of producing tunable broadband high-frequency signals within a nanometer-sized region. In this thesis, novel designs for STOs will be discussed; the common theme of these designs will be their use of only one ferromagnetic (FM) material. READ MORE

4. Spin transfer torques and spin dynamics in point contacts and spin-flop tunnel junctions
Abstract : The first part of this thesis is an experimental study of the spin-dependent transport in magnetic point contacts. Nano-contacts are produced micromechanically, by bringing a sharpened non-magnetic (N) tip into contact with a ferromagnetic (F) film. READ MORE

5. Development of Organic-Based Thin Film Magnets for Spintronics
Abstract : In the growing field of spintronics, development of semiconducting magnets is a high priority. Organic-based molecular magnets are attractive candidates since their properties can be tailor-made by organic chemistry. Other advantages include low weight and low temperature processing. READ MORE
