1. Characterization of the inner nuclear membrane protein Samp1, during interphase and mitosis
Abstract : The nucleus, a hallmark in eukaryotic cells, contains the genome separating it from molecules in the cytoplasm. The nucleus is surrounded by a nuclear envelope consisting of two concentric membranes, the outer nuclear membrane and the inner nuclear membrane, the nuclear lamina and nuclear pore complexes. 2. Fine needle aspiration diagnosis of spindle cell tumors of soft tissue, including the use of ancillary methods, and correlation with clinical data
Abstract : Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is gaining increased popularity in the diagnosis of soft tissue lesions. FNAC used as a primary examination method to obtain a morphologic diagnosis, has been part of the diagnostic work-up of patients admitted to the Musculoskeletal Tumor Center of the Lund University Hospital since 1972. 3. Microtubule and spindle pole body regulation in the budding yeast mitotic spindle
Abstract : The microtubule organizing center (MTOC) is a specialized structure with a main function in microtubule (MT) nucleation and organization. In higher eukaryotes, the main MTOC is known as the centrosome, and its functional equivalent in yeast is the spindle pole body (SPB). READ MORE

4. A sensory role for the cruciate ligaments : regulation of joint stability via reflexes onto the γ-muscle-spindle system
Abstract : Reflex effects evoked by graded electrical stimulation of the posterior articular nerves (PAN) of the ipsi- and contralateral knee joints were investigated using both micro-electrode recordings from 7 - motoneurones and recordings from single muscle muscle spindle afferents. Spindle afferent responses were also recorded using natural stimulation of different types of receptors, to elucidate if the articular reflexes onto the y -motoneurones were potent enough to significantly alter the muscle spindle afferent activity. 5. On spinal mechanisms for reflex control in man : modulation of Ia-afferent excitation with changes in muscle length, activation level and fatigue
Abstract : To control muscle force, neural activation has to take alterations in muscle mechanics into account. This thesis assesses modulations in excitatory efficacy of Ia-afferents during muscle length changes at different levels of voluntary activation and during fatigue. READ MORE
