  1. 1. Pharmacovigilance : spontaneous reporting in health care

    Author : Elisabet Ekman; Göran Petersson; Susanna Wallerstedt; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacovigilance; adverse drug reaction; spontaneous reporting; nurses; physicians; attitudes; torsades de pointes; erectile dysfunction; Biomedical Sciences; Biomedicinsk vetenskap;

    Abstract : Pharmacovigilance in healthcare is essential for safe drug treatment. Spontaneous reporting is the most common source of information in the context of implementing label changes and taking a drug off the market. However, underreporting is found to be very prevalent. READ MORE

  2. 2. Prediction of Spontaneous Preterm Birth : Clinical and Immunological Aspects

    Author : Maria Svenvik; Jan Ernerudh; Marie Blomberg; Maria Jenmalm; Teresa Cobo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Background: Preterm birth (PTB), defined as birth before 37 weeks of gestation, accounts for most neonatal death and morbidity. Accurate prediction is a pre-requisite for the prevention and proper management of PTB. However, methods for prediction are unsatisfactory, although sonographic cervical length has a moderate predictive value. READ MORE

  3. 3. Bank-Industry Networks and Economic Evolution : An Institutional-Evolutionary Approach

    Author : Thomas Marmefelt; Jönköping University; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Schumpeterian bank-entrepreneur interaction; Bank-industry networks; Innovation; Economic evolution; Endogenous growth; Entropy; Financial institutions; Governance; Conventions; Institutional change; Network commitment; Spontaneous order; Collective action; Evolutionary game theory; Economic history;

    Abstract : The links between institutions and economic evolution, especially between financial institutions and industrial innovation, are poorly understood. Having Schumpeter´s theory of economic evolution as starting point, this study gives an outline of an institutional-evolutionary theory of institutional change, innovation, and financial systems, based on learning-by-financing within bank-industry networks. 4. 4. Risk of spontaneous fires at temporary storages sites for organic material, waste fuels and recyclables: Quantification and mitigation

    Author : Muhammad Asim Ibrahim; William Hogland; Ghasem Najafpour; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; temporary storage; risk of fires; spontaneous ignition; biofuels; recyclables; waste fuels; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Abstract : Economic and environmental constraints have created increasing demand for (material and energy recovery) and recycling of waste generated from households, commercial and industrial activities. A wide variety of materials waiting for sorting, recovery, recycling and disposal are stored at temporary storage sites (TSS) where physical, biotic and abiotic processes can lead the stored material to spontaneous ignition. 5. 5. Generation of coherent short-wavelength radiation --- High-order harmonics and x-ray lasers

    Author : Tomas Starczewski; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Atomic and molecular physics; short-wavelength radiation; coherence; high-intensity lasers; high-order harmonics; x-ray lasers; Atom- och molekylärfysik;

    Abstract : The recent availability of short-pulse, high-intensity, compact lasers has opened doors to new and fascinating areas in atomic physics. Using the Lund Terawatt Laser, the interaction of femtosecond, near-infrared and visible laser radiation with matter at intensities in the range 1013--1017 W/cm2 was studied. READ MORE
