1. Efficient Memory Utilization in Resource Constrained Real-Time Systems
Abstract : This thesis presents design and run-time techniques for efficient memory utilization in embedded real-time systems. The proposed techniques give developers means to reduce the memory consumption in the systems. READ MORE

2. A Study of Combinatorial Optimization Problems in Industrial Computer Systems
Abstract : A combinatorial optimization problem is an optimization problem where the number of possible solutions are finite and grow combinatorially with the problem size. Combinatorial problems exist everywhere in industrial systems. READ MORE

3. Reliable and deterministic network services
Abstract : In a post Internet bubble economic environment the obvious lack of any disruptive new technologies that could give new impetus to network growth (as, for example, experienced after the appearance of the Web) lead to a trivialization of network services: Aside grass-roots, semi-subterranean applications like file sharing, entertainment content swapping and on-line gaming, it can be argued that network services are presently used in a manner not very different than a decade ago. In this respect, one of the factors that can be identified as limiting further development is the perceived lack of guarantees with regard to network services. READ MORE

4. Safe Intersection and Merging Coordination of Connected and Automated Vehicles
Abstract : Connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) are a transformative technology that promises to bring innovative solutions to transportation systems. One of their significant advantages is the elimination of human factors, which makes them capable of resolving the congestion problem prevalent in areas such as ramp merging points and road intersections. 5. Synthesis and Synchronization Support for Hierarchically Scheduled Real-Time Systems
Abstract : A piece of software, that we define as a software system, can consist of anything from a few lines of program code or the entire software stack in a vehicle. Software systems can be divided into smaller and partially independent parts called subsystems/partitions (we use the words partition and subsystem interchangeably). READ MORE
