  1. 16. Cdc42 and Rac1 in Pancreatic Tubulogenesis and Islet Formation

    Author : Gokul Kesavan; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Tubes form the basic structure of several organs like lungs, kidneys, glandular organs like the pancreas, mammary and salivary glands. Tube formation involves a series of dynamic and interdependent cellular processes, including cytoskeletal reorganization, assembly of intercellular junctional complexes, and cell polarization. 2. 17. FLT3 receptor in normal and malignant hematopoiesis

    Author : Shabnam Kharazi; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; FLT3-ITD; FLT3; lineage commitment; acute myeloid leukemia; myeloprolifetaive disease; hematopoietic stem cell;

    Abstract : All hematopoietic cells originate from hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) residing in the bone marrow (BM). The classical model of hematopoietic lineage commitment, that has been the prevailing model for hematopoiesis, proposes that the first lineage commitment step of HSCs and progenitors results in a strict separation of myelopoiesis and lymphopoiesis. 3. 18. Tissue specific functions of Early B-cell factor in cellular differentiation

    Author : Anna Lagergren; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; transcription factor; extracellular fluids; Haematology; tissue specific; cellular differentiation; EBF; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor;

    Abstract : This work focus on the functions by which the transcription factor Early B-cell Factor (EBF) regulate gene expression in different cell types. To address this question, gene expression analyses aimed to investigate the regulatory role of EBF in neuroblastoma cells, B-lymphocytes, adipocytes and stromal cells were performed. READ MORE

  4. 19. Cytogenetic abnormalities in Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Sweden. A population based study

    Author : Vladimir Lazarevic; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; AML; karyotype; population-based studies; prognosis; chromosomes; hyperdiploidy;

    Abstract : The impact of cytogenetic findings in AML was analyzed in the large population-based Swedish AML registry. Karyotypic patterns differed by age: t(8;21), inv(16) and t(11q23) were more common in younger patients, whereas loss of 5q, 7q and 17p, monosomal karyotype (MK) and complex karyotype (CK) were more common in older patients. 5. 20. Investigating the role of neural stem/progenitor regulators in the context of brain tumor development

    Author : Isabelle Leefa Chong San; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Keywords : neural stem progenitor cells; regulators; brain tumor; cell of origin; cancer mechanisms;

    Abstract : Adult neural stem/progenitor cells (NSPs) are multipotent and self-renew over an extensive period of time. Transformation events in such cells, such as genetic or epigenetic alterations can result in brain tumors. READ MORE
