6. Stark Spectroscopy, Lifetimes and Coherence Effects in Diatomic Molecular Systems
Abstract : In this dissertation is exemplified how different laser based methods are applied in high-resolution spectroscopic studies of internal properties of diatomic molecules.A molecular beam apparatus assembly is described, where a laser ablation source is combined with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. 7. On the Challenges for Time-of-Flight Electron Spectroscopy at Storage Rings
Abstract : Time-of-flight (TOF) techniques for energy analysis have been common in electron spectroscopy for many decades. TOF-based electron spectrometers benefit from higher transmission and information rate compared to their main competitor: the hemispherical analyser; the drawback being their lower energy resolution. 8. Energy migration and charge formation in conjugated polymers
Abstract : The main part of the thesis is concerned with charge photogeneration in conjugated polymers. MeLPPP and POMeOPT films were investigated by transient absorption spectroscopy using different excitation photon energies and light intensities with and without an external electric field. READ MORE

9. Calculations of Clean and Adsorbate Covered Metal Surfaces and their Core-Level Photoemission Spectra
Abstract : The present thesis is concerned with the theoretical study of x-ray photoemission spectra from clean and adsorbate-covered metal surfaces. The main tool is ab initio density functional (DFT) total energy calculations. READ MORE

10. Spectroscopy of semiconductor quantum dots
Abstract : Quantum dots in the Si/Ge and InAs/GaAs materials systems are examined by means of photoluminescence. The spectroscopic study of Si/Ge quantum dots has demonstrated two different radiative recombination channels in the type II band alignment: The spatially direct transition inside the dot and the spatially indirect transition across the dot interface.
