1. Pilot Production and Manufacturing Start-up in the Automotive Industry. Principles for Improved Performance
Abstract : The dissertation is based on experiences from Volvo Car Corporation and examines pilot production and manufacturing start-up, processes that are here combined under the rubric final verification of product and production system. The purpose of this dissertation is to study pilot production and manufacturing start-up in order, first, to identify and analyze factors affecting final verification performance and, secondly, to develop general principles for how final verification performance can be improved. 2. New insights on financing and business development of start-up firms and SMEs
Abstract : This thesis aspires to advance understanding of how start-up firms’ and small and medium sized firms’(SMEs) network relationships affect acquisition of financing and information necessary to achieve firmbusiness development through the exchange in business relationships. It contributes to research on socialstructure by clarifying how network relationships that facilitate exchange have a positive effect on firmbusiness development, defined as subjective and objective enhancement of firm performance. 3. Low Noise Oscillator in ADPLL toward Direct-to-RF All-digital Polar Transmitter
Abstract : In recent years all-digital or digitally-intensive RF transmitters (TX) have attracted great attention in both literature and industry. The motivation is to implement RF circuits in a manner suiting advanced nanometer CMOS processes. To achieve that, information is encoded in the time-domain rather than voltage amplitude. READ MORE

4. Emissions from realistic operation of residential wood pellets heating systems
Abstract : Emissions from residential combustion appliances vary significantly depending on the firing behaviours and combustion conditions, in addition to combustion technologies and fuel quality. Although wood pellet combustion in residential heating boilers is efficient, the combustion conditions during start-up and stop phases are not optimal and produce significantly high emissions such as carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon from incomplete combustion. 5. A long journey from bioanode to biocathode
Abstract : Better utilization of renewable sources of energy and recovery of resources from waste streams are important challenges for researchers. Bioelectrochemical systems (BESs) are new technologies which e.g. could be used to produce green energy from waste sources or store renewable electricity as chemical fuels. READ MORE
