  1. 21. Structure Functions and Final-State Properties in Deeply Inelastic electron-proton Scattering

    Author : Hamid Kharraziha; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cosmic rays; event generators; colour factors; High energy interactions; hadronic jets; QCD; the Linked Dipole Chain model; quantum mechanics; relativity; gravitation; statistical physics; thermodynamics; Matematisk och allmän teoretisk fysik; kvantmekanik; klassisk mekanik; Kosmisk strålning; högenergi; classical mechanics; Mathematical and general theoretical physics; relativitet; statistisk fysik; termodynamik; Fysicumarkivet A:1997:Kharraziha;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we give a description of the detailed structure of the proton and a description of the final-state properties in electron-proton scattering. Qualitative results, in a purely gluonic scenario with the leading log approximation, and quantitative results, where quarks are included and some sub-leading corrections have been made, are presented. 2. 22. Correlations in multiparticle production

    Author : Markus Ringnér; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; String fragmentation; QCD; Correlations; Colour interference; Bose-Einstein interference; quantum mechanics; classical mechanics; Mathematical and general theoretical physics; relativity; gravitation; statistical physics; Matematisk och allmän teoretisk fysik; High energy interactions; thermodynamics; kvantmekanik; klassisk mekanik; termodynamik; cosmic rays; Kosmisk strålning; högenergi; statistisk fysik; relativitet; Fysicumarkivet A:1998:Ringnér;

    Abstract : Different aspects of the strong interaction in particle collisions are studied. Most of the work is based on the Lund string fragmentation model for hadron production. A model which incorporates interference between identical bosons in the string model is presented. READ MORE

  3. 23. Development of Detector Systems for Internal and Fixed Target Heavy Ion Physics Experiments

    Author : Pavel Golubev; Kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Multi-detector system; VLSI electronics; ultra-thin detectors; heavy ion reactions; nuclear intensity interferometry; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; ultra-high vacuum compatibility; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Golubev;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with intermediate energy heavy ion reactions with the particular aim to study the nuclear matter equation of state which defines the relation between statistical parameters of a fermionic system. The development of equipment for two experiments, CA47 at The Svedberg Laboratory in Uppsala, Sweden and R16 at Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut (KVI), Groningen, The Netherlands, are described. 4. 24. Hadron Physics in a Polarized World : Exploring Electromagnetic Interactions with Spin Observables

    Author : Viktor Thorén; Andrzej Kupsc; Karin Schönning; Magnus Wolke; David Ireland; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hadron; Hyperon; Meson; Polarization; Spin observables; Electromagnetic interactions; BESIII; Fysik med inriktning mot kärnfysik; Physics with specialization in Nuclear Physics;

    Abstract : The electromagnetic interactions of hadrons serve as a valuable probe of the nature of the strong force at low energies and simultaneously allow for tests of fundamental discrete symmetries. In this thesis, I show how polarization observables can be used to gain an in-depth understanding of these processes and present two analyses of data from the BESIII experiment where such observables have been studied. 5. 25. Equilibrium and Dynamics on Complex Networkds

    Author : Gino Del Ferraro; Erik Aurell; Bernard Derrida; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Statistical mechanics; complex networks; spin systems; non equilibrium dynamics; generalized belief propagation; message passing; cavity method; variational approaches; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Complex networks are an important class of models used to describe the behaviour of a very broad category of systems which appear in different fields of science ranging from physics, biology and statistics to computer science and other disciplines. This set of models includes spin systems on a graph, neural networks, decision networks, spreading disease, financial trade, social networks and all systems which can be represented as interacting agents on some sort of graph architecture.
