1. Resistance of Circular and Polygonal Steel Towers for Wind Turbines : Down scale component experiments and Finite element analysis
Abstract : With increasing demand of sustainable energy production, the harvesting of wind power by using wind turbines have become increasingly important over the last few decades. Most of the wind turbine towers are made from steel. Towers are an important part of the investment in wind parks and contribute about 20% of costs for the onshore towers. READ MORE

2. Essays on energy efficiency, environmental regulation and labor demand in Swedish industry
Abstract : Paper [I] Energy efficiency improvement (EEI) benefits the climate and matters for energy security. The potential emission and energy savings due to EEI may however not fully materialize due to the rebound effect. READ MORE

3. Improved mapping of steel recycling from an industrial perspective
Abstract : The results from this study show that it is possible to obtain data series on the steel scrap collection based on mass balance model on the crude steel production figures by steelmaking reactor type and additional knowledge on process metallurgy as well as information on inputs and outputs into the reactors with an area correlation coefficient of 0,91 compared to data obtained from trade statistics. Furthermore, the study shows that based on a new method it is possible to calculate the time duration of mass flows on a continuous basis. READ MORE

4. Composite Action and Confinement Effects in Tubular Steel-Concrete Columns
Abstract : Composite columns composed of concrete-filled steel tubes (CFT) have become increasingly popular in structural applications around the world. This type of column can offer many advantages, for instance, high strength, ductility, and large energy absorption capacity, as well as increased speed of construction, positive safety aspects, and possible use of simple standardized connections. 5. Thermal Stability and Mechanical Properties of Bainitic Steel
Abstract : For material design it is important to understand and establish the relations between the processing of the steel, the resulting microstructure and how that correlate to the properties of the steel. The main focus of this thesis has been to increase this knowledge for low alloy bainitic steels with medium to high carbon content. READ MORE
