  1. 16. Pressure Control in Hydraulic Power Steering Systems

    Author : Alessandro Dell’Amico; Petter Krus; Victor Juliano De Negri; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : There is a clear trend in the vehicle industry to implement more safetyrelated functions, where the focus is on active safety systems and today the steering system is also involved. Steering-related active safety functions can only be realised with a steering system that allows electroniccontrol of either the road wheel angle or the torque required to steer the vehicle, called active steering. 2. 17. Safety for Children in Cars – Focus on Three Point Seatbelts in Emergency Events

    Author : Isabelle Stockman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Steering; Crash test dummies; Run-off road; Child restraint systems; Child safety; Emergency events; Braking; Pre-pretensioners;

    Abstract : Child safety in vehicles has improved over time. One of the main factors is due to the increased restraint use by children. Nevertheless, studies show that although children are restrained, injuries still occur indicating that restraint systems have the potential for further improvement. READ MORE

  3. 18. Bio-inspired retinal optic flow perception in robotic navigation

    Author : Björnborg Nguyen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; robotic navigation; active fixation; visual perception; bionics; Retinal optic flow fields; gazing; optic flow; retinal flow path;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the bio-inspired visual perception of motion with emphasis on locomotion targeting robotic systems. By continuously registering moving visual features in the human retina, a sensation of a visual flow cue is created. An interpretation of visual flow cues forms a low-level motion perception more known as retinal optic flow. READ MORE

  4. 19. Safe Transitions to Manual Driving From Faulty Automated Driving System

    Author : Josef Nilsson; RISE; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Driver takeover; functional safety; automated driving; safety; vehicle automation; driver capability; brake failure; controllability; driving simulator.;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a method to assess the safety of transitions from automated to manual driving when vehicle automation fails. The method is based on contributions to the understanding of human driving behavior, also presented in this thesis. READ MORE

  5. 20. Efficient Integrated Circuits for Wideband Wireless Transceivers

    Author : Quoc-Tai Duong; Atila Alvandpour; Henrik Sjöland; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The proliferation of portable communication devices combined with the relentless demand for higher data rates has spurred the development of wireless communication standards which can support wide signal bandwidths. Benefits of the complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) process such as high device speeds and low manufacturing cost have rendered it the technology of choice for implementing wideband wireless transceiver integrated circuits (ICs).
