21. Antibody-based Profiling of Expression Patterns using Cell and Tissue Microarrays
Abstract : In this thesis, methods to study gene and protein expression in cells and tissues were developed and utilized in combination with protein-specific antibodies, with the overall objective to attain greater understanding of protein function. To analyze protein expression in in vitro cultured cell lines, a cell microarray (CMA) was developed, facilitating antibody-based protein profiling of cell lines using immunohistochemistry (IHC). 22. Tribology of carbon fiber reinforced PTFE composites in dry gas environments
Abstract : With hydrogen being one of the key pillars of decarbonization, the reliability and efficiency of hydrogen applications become increasingly important. In applications such as oil-free reciprocating hydrogen compressors and Stirling engines, the self-lubricating pistonrings and other dynamic seals are critical components in terms of efficiency, service life and proper functioning. 23. Liquid-Jet-Target Microfocus X-Ray Sources : Electron Guns, Optics and Phase-Contrast Imaging
Abstract : This Thesis describes the development of an electron-impact microfocus x-ray source and its application for phase-contrast imaging. The source is based on a novel, liquid-jet target concept. Stable and continuous operation can be achieved at substantially higher electron-beam power densities than conventional solid target based systems. READ MORE

24. Medication reviews by clinical pharmacists in older hospitalised patients : Implementation, performance and effects
Abstract : Background Inappropriate use of medications is a leading cause of avoidable harm in health care. Medication reviews by clinical pharmacists improve medication use, but evidence on hard clinical outcomes in older hospitalised patients is scarce and implementation in practice is challenging. 25. Pressure-Induced Amorphization and Distinct Amorphous States of Clathrate Hydrates
Abstract : This thesis summarizes a study on the pressure-induced amorphization (PIA) and structures of amorphous states of clathrate hydrates (CHs).PIA involves the transition of a crystalline material into an amorphous solid in response of mechanical compression at temperatures well below the melting point.
