  2. 12. Quantum Chemical Studies of Enantioselective Organocatalytic Reactions

    Author : Peter Hammar; Fahmi Himo; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DFT; enantioselective; asymmetric; organocatalysis; Theoretical chemistry; Teoretisk kemi;

    Abstract : Density Functional Theory is used in order to shed light on the reaction mechanisms and the origins of stereoselectivity in enantioselective organocatalytic reactions. The reactions investigated are the dipeptide-catalyzed aldol reaction, the cinchona thiourea-catalyzed nitroaldol reaction and the prolinol derivative-catalyzed hydrophosphination reaction. 3. 13. Palladium-catalyzed Allylic C-H and C-OH Functionalization. Reactions of the Obtained Allylboronic Acids

    Author : Rauful Alam; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis is focused on the studies of two major transformations. The first transformation deals with the development of palladium-catalyzed selective allylic trifluoroacetoxylation reactions based on C-H functionalization, whereas the second comprises the synthesis and isolation of allylboronic acids using diboronic acid B2(OH)4 as boron source. 4. 14. Quantum Chemical Modeling of Asymmetric Enzymatic Reactions : Applications to Limonene Epoxide Hydrolase and Arylmalonate Decarboxylase

    Author : Maria E.S. Lind; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In this thesis, density functional theory has been employed to study the reactionmechanisms of two enzymes with possible applications in asymmetric biocatalysis.To reproduce and rationalize the stereoselectivity of the enzymes, quite large cluster models that account for the chiral environment of the active site have been used. 5. 15. Fine-tuning of the catalytic activity and selectivity of palladium pincer complexes

    Author : Juhanes Aydin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis is focused on optimization of the catalytic properties of so-called pincer complexes. This work involved synthesis of a large variety of palladium pincer complexes, which were applied in various organic transformations. READ MORE
