  1. 1. Weld Cracking of Precipitation Hardening Ni-based Superalloys - Investigation of repair welding characteristics and susceptibility towards strain age cracking

    Author : Fabian Hanning; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Gleeble; Haynes 282; Waspaloy; welding; ATI 718Plus®; weldability; post-weld heat treatment; weld cracking; strain age cracking; hot cracking; Nickel-based superalloys;

    Abstract : High temperature resistance and strength requirements make nickel-based superalloys the material of choice for the hot section of aero engines. Fabrication in terms of combining wrought and cast parts in the manufacturing of hot structural components enables component optimisation via the use of wrought high-strength parts, where geometrical constraints allow, and cast parts to produce complex geometries. 2. 2. Weldability of Precipitation Hardening Superalloys – Influence of Microstructure

    Author : Joel Håkan Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hot cracking; GTAW; Transvarestraint testing; Varestraint testing; Gleeble testing; Solidification cracking; HAZ liquation cracking; Repair welding; Strain age cracking; EBW; DSC thermal analysis;

    Abstract : Superalloys and in particular the precipitation hardened Ni-based superalloys havealways been used extensively in the hot sections of jet engines. Large hot structuralengine components with complex geometry have preferably been cast as single piececomponents since the large scale vacuum investment casting process becameavailable about fifty years ago. 3. 3. Weld Cracking in Precipitation Hardening Ni-based Superalloys

    Author : Fabian Hanning; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; welding; post weld heat treatment; weldability; Nickel based superalloys; strain age cracking; weld cracking;

    Abstract : Manufacturing of hot structural components for aero engines requires the materials being used to be weldable. The high demands on strength and temperature resistance make nickel based superalloys the material of choice for this application. READ MORE

  4. 4. Cracking in Reinforced Concrete Structures Due to Imposed Deformations

    Author : Agnes Nagy; Avdelningen för Konstruktionsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; minimum reinforcement; cracking; softening; shrinkage; cooling; imposed deformations; conversion formula; static E-modulus; damping coefficient; resonance frequency; dynamic E-modulus; constitutive model; thermal stress; hydration process; reinforced concrete structure; early age; crack control; Building construction; Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with modeling of the cracking process in reinforced concrete due to imposed deformations. Cracking is investigated both at early ages, during hydration, and at mature age when the final properties of the concrete are reached. READ MORE

  5. 5. Thermal crack estimation in early age concrete : models and methods for practical application

    Author : Mårten Larson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : Control of thermal cracking in young concrete is of great importance to ensure a desired service life time and function of a structure. Making reliable thermal stress estimations, and thereby conclusions about cracking risks, involves advanced modelling of material properties and structural restraint. READ MORE
