  1. 1. Bright and strain-tunable semiconductor quantum dot devices

    Author : Thomas Lettner; Val Zwiller; Klaus D. Jöns; Oliver Benson; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum dots; single–photons; entanglement; strain–tunable; kvantprickar; singelfotoner; sammanflätning; töjnings-justerbar; Optik och fotonik; Optics and Photonics;

    Abstract : Optically active semiconductor quantum dots have proven to be excellent single- and entangled-photon sources, with applications in quantum optics and quantum photonics. These sources are considered crucial in the development of future photonic quantum technology, such as quantum communication, quantum computation and quantum metrology. READ MORE

  2. 2. 3D structural framework and constraints on the timing of hydrothermal alteration and ore formation at the Falun Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, Bergslagen, Sweden

    Author : Tobias Christoph Kampmann; Pietari Skyttä; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Falun pyritic Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, situated in the Palaeoproterozoic (1.9–1.8 Ga) Bergslagen lithotectonic unit in the south-western part of the Fennoscandian Shield, is one of the major base and minor precious metal sulphide deposits in Sweden. READ MORE

  3. 3. Correlation spectroscopy with epitaxial quantum dots : Single-photons alone in the dark

    Author : Lucas Schweickert; Val Zwiller; Klaus D. Jöns; Richard J. Warburton; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum dots; single--photons; indistinguishability; entanglement; Optik och fotonik; Optics and Photonics;

    Abstract : The advent of quantum computation promises exciting advances, not only in fields like medicine and metrology, but many industries that rely on parameter-heavy calculations or simulation of molecular interaction. At the same time Shor's algorithm for quantum computers presents a threat to current asymmetric encryption protocols used in everyday communication. READ MORE

  4. 4. Microbial Degradation of Toxaphene

    Author : Martha Lacayo; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; kontroll av utsläpp; Miljöteknik; pollution control; Enterobacter; Environmental technology; Bjerkandera; Toxaphene; Biodegradation; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : This works deals with the degradation of a group of recalcitrant compounds known as toxaphene. Toxaphene is a complex mixture of chlorinated compounds including hexa- and octachlorocamphenes, hepta-, nona- and decachlorobornanes. Some components of toxaphene are very persistent while others are degraded rapidly by both abiotic and biotic processes. READ MORE

  5. 5. Role of the dopamine system in motor skill learning : implications for neurodevelopmental disorders

    Author : Yu Qian; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Dopamine (DA), released by midbrain neurons, is critical for motor performance, motor skill learning, and corticostriatal synaptic plasticity. Dysregulation of DAergic signaling in corticostriatal circuitry has also been implicated in several highly heritable neurodevelopmental disorders, such as attention/deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which are often associated with deficits in fine motor skills.
